there should be a way to manually close it. look in your glove box for what looks like an S or Z shaped metal rod/bar. it is used to crank open and closed the sunroof

and it miraculously closed so ima just call it a day. but it wouldnt close regularly,i had to use the other function to make it close. the one that opens it the opposite direction to make it look like a moon roof

There is a reset procedure that fixes that, but I wasn't watching closely when I had it done, so hopefully someone else chimes in here.

Yeah, sounds like you needed to reset. The reset procedure is to hold the sunroof in the up (vent/moonroof) position for a few seconds. That should close it and also sync it so the back/forth work correctly.

If you need to manually close it, remove the panel with the map light and you can see a crank to manually close it.
