Not to go off topic too much. But why does my car have a Tape button on the radio when there's no tape deck?
Thanks, and sorry for the off-topic, didn't want to make a new thread just for that.

If so, press the "tape" button, then press the "soft" button (one of the buttons under the display) labeled "eject".
The display rotates down and hidden behind it is your tape deck.

Oh nice, thanks man. Finally found my tape player. Is it possible to use one of those cassette tapes with a wire that attaches to an iPod? It doesn't seem like it, but I could be wrong... I'd much rather do that instead of buying an adapter for who knows how much.

folks use this device/adaptor regularly. ghetto way is to simply insert it
from the front. ghetto2 method is to pull the radio, open the case, insert
the adaptor from front, and route the input wire out the back (or drill hole)
and snake the wire with a bit more finesse to the front. some have snaked
it into the center console compartment, for example.

I don't know what's normal, given my audio30 seems to be acting up, but when I insert the cassette adapter, and leave the door/display open, the system beeps at me every few seconds. I'm not to keen on closing the door with the wire hanging out, since it doesn't close nicely.

That's why you
route it out the back.
Or have the mod done by Becker to install the ipod/sat hookup.

Closure: the icon went away after sitting over night, and the radio has been working fine for about a week now. Thanks for the help.

Oh ok, nevermind. I was wondering if you can close the tape player cover with the wire from the cassette adapter sticking out, that's why I asked.
