Can anyone here tell me where and how a 97 E320 picks up it's crank sensor reference from? I was told it uses a 60-2 trigger wheel but I have no way of verifying that. I thought it used 3 big magnets on the flywheel like the older ones but with a better VR sensor; but idk . The reason I ask is because I am adapting a z32 300zx 5 speed onto the car. Nissan parts mate with 1980-2002 Mercedes so well it's ridiculous, this tranny is no exception.

Can't help, but is this why another guy here is dropping a 2jz and tranny into his? I think everyone was assuming it would be a lot of work, but sounds like you're saying it might be easy (at least the physical mating, if not the electronics).

Will that 5 speed hold your 600 hp or whatnot your 6 cylinder is pushing?

I like the train yard video

My 14 yo son and I use an old cement yard for no track day test and tunes.
It's so big my 18yo daughter learned to drive there when I was teaching her
No cops
You have a stand alone fuel system don't you?
Why not stand alone ignition more control under boost.
Maybe electromotive has some info of value.

A guy up here had a lexus v8 running coils on firewall and electromotive ignition in a 190 SL

Thanks for the info. Wow that 300 is crazy. I'm still on the stock ECU with the AEM piggyback right now. I'm good at 20psi with stock timing so after I get the new injectors it's 500rwhp dyno time again.

I wish I was running 600hp right now but my new injectors won't allow it.
