Hey, if you get a chance email me back as far as what springs, pads, etc you are using to lower your car. I live right on the border of IL/In and am looking for positive and reasonable costs from car shops as far as lowering my car. Thanks

There is no correct answer

Every chasis from the factory is different, thus the requirements to have the pads. The best method is to determine what pads were on the car from the factory. If the ride height front/rear was acceptable then step all the pads down the same number. Typically the rears are one size thicker than the fronts (typically).

How about some pics?

On my E430 with H&R cupkit, i used #4 in the front and #1 in the back and there are no gap between the fenders and tires. No rubbing as well. So i think it's possible for you to use #1 all around on your E320. Hope this helps.

Krystian,

The ride is about the same with H&R sport and Bilstein combo that i had before, but the H&R cupkit lowers the car more which i like it better. I am running the cupkit with Carlsson 2/6 19.8.5 all around. I rolled my fenders already but the front still rubs before i had #1 pad all around, but rubbing is not a big problem anymore after i switch the pad to #4 in the front. I am still running #1 pad in the back, and the car turned out perfect in my opinion. Do not cut your springs to lower your car, the ride will just get worse and worse.
About alignment, i have the rear adjustable camber kit that i brought from Delsing motorsport online, they used to have a website, but last time i checked it's gone. The camber kit did a good job bring the rear alignment back to factory spec, so i have no problem with uneven tire wear in the back. I also had the mercedes factory bolt on camber kit from the dealer on the front, it does not bring the front alignment within the factory spec, but it's close, (only off by like -0.02) so it's alrite i guess.

I think that's all you need to know if you decided to do a H&R cupkit with 19s combo, you need the rear camber kit though.

Hope this helps!

As for a reference,

I just did the Eibach Pro-system.

Initially did #1 front, #2 rear.

Car was too low in front. Similiar although not quite as low as Lightman's E300. The tops of the tires were just a bit under the fender line.

Put #5 pad back in for front and ended up with ~26 in. fender to ground, just about perfect. Before it was 25.25 with the #1 pad.

The rear stayed @ #2 and the gap is about even with the fronts. Rear fender to ground is about 26.5.

Hope that helps,
