CAN OBD-II Code Reader

Will a CAN OBD-II Code Reader read the CAN defaults for a 2000 E320?

I was looking at this particular unit.

Thanks!

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
It will read

obd2 codes,I/M status and erase them. also read pending codes.
What do you need it to do?
And most importantly, why?

Instrument Cluster problems. Was told it could possible be a "CAN" problem. Would this be a dealer only diagnosis?

it might show up

as a powertrain code or as a comm error code.
What is the issue with the cluster?
Lots of diy solutions over on www.benzworld.org w210 diy section
From dead lights to dead pixels to dead gauges.
Do you have a check engine light on?
If not a comm error might be stored as pending.
