Need a Catalytic converter for 97 e 300d

Can anyone recommend an after market part number for a catalytic converter for 97 e 300 d . I live in baton rouge louisiana. I went to flowmaster's website but could not search for it. If i find one i will buy and have a local mechanic install it. The dealership wanted 1200 for the part only. Also , should i change out the small resonator close to the rear of the vehicles tail pipe

There are no direct fit aftermarket parts for this. I checked when mine went bad and I just hollowed out the convertor as the insides were making a rattling noise.

Why are you replacing this part?
-Is it rusted out?
-Or, is it making a rattling noise?

I would suggest replacing it with a straight pipe if it is rusted out.

If it is just rattling, and the shell is intact, then removed the exhaust system. Get a very long file and jam it inside the convertor. Do this until you remove all of the internal filter. You will have a hollowed out pipe then.

From what I remember, there are no sensors on the exhaust system itself. Mine might be different because i have the turbo and you are N/A. My guess is that they are very similar. As long as you keep the stock muffler, the sound shouldn't be too much louder.
I have a hollowed out cat with a Brabus muffler and the car is a little louder, but sounds great.

P0200

is an injector circuit fault.Get it fixed.
Look at magnaflow for universal cats(about 60 bucks)
Then you have a shop splice it in.

Curious code on semi electronic, chain driven IP with mechanical inj's. I'd check again using a different scanner if it were me......

After a cursory review, MagnaFlow doesnt appear to sell any "diesel catalyst" products for MB's.

Too bad not local. I know someone who has a bunch of them in storage that were taken off cars that were upgrading the exhaust systems.
