OK. You mean the digital display in your instrument cluster? If it stays on continuously the system may believe the key is in the ignition. When you turn off the engine, remove the key and open the door do you get a 'Key in Ignition' warning?

If you haven't done so I would try disconnecting the battery ground for a few minutes and then reconnecting to 'reset' the computer system. Be sure you have your radio code before hand.

If you fully charged your battery (and the battery is healthy) and it went dead in just a few hours it sounds like a leak to ground in some circuit.

I'm a little confused by the 'symptoms' but I'd suggest that at this point you eliminate the battery by having it removed and have someone perform a load test at the bench. If the load test shows the battery is okay have it fully charged and reinstall. That will also provide a 'reset' to the CAN.

These cars are sensitive to voltage level and when the voltage gets close to the threshold strange things start happening like bogus error messages, etc.

I'm going to bring this back from the dead. What did you do to solve this problem? I'm having the same issue with the puddle lights on the bottom of the doors not turning off. I just put a new battery in it 3 months ago. I went to start it today and the battery was dead.
Its weird, I thought it was a door switch at first but all the doors turn the dome light on and off when I open and close the doors. But these dang lights are on all the time. Anyone dealt with this before?

Have you confirmed that the lights come on, I guess in your case all the time, during daylight hours!!

Yep, they are on all the time. I had to disconnect the negative battery terminal because it will drain the battery again. They stay on 24/7.

Well if you are absolutely sure that with all door switches taped shut your interior lights are still on bla bla then there are three other areas that could be causing the problem-door control modules, PSE or the overhead control module.

Your problem is that you do not have the diagnostic tools to quickly examine the extended vehicle network to locate the fault. That takes DAS Xentry or equal!!
