replacing driver-side mirror glass
The driver-side mirror glass has become dark and distorted and I would like to replace it. I've found replacement glass available on eBay, but am concerned about how to replace it. I believe it is heated - is there any wiring I have to be concerned with? How does the old glass come out? I suppose if I bought the kit on eBay, it would have instructions, but...

I believe your drivers side mirror glass is a self dimming type. I have the same problem. These are very expensive to buy. An indi shop quoted me $370, and said the dealer would charge $100 more. I have ordered an aftermarket self dimming OEM spec glass for $220, but have not yet recieved it. I don't know anything about the Ebay unit. I have stopped buying from Ebay because everything I have ever ordered from there has been defective.

The mirror glass part should be available from the dealer seperate from the housing and motor. There has been some debate in the past whether or not this piece can be ordered by itself. The dealer wil want to sel you the complete housing at ~$500 or more, but last I checked EPC, the mirror itself actually had a unique part number for much less, IIRC.
I'd have to check again though. Raymond, have you seen that as well?

i've had luck ordering an OEM replacement, autodim, heated, and wide angle.
check this - i only paid $100 for it. scored this from someone stateside who
does OEM retrofit of parts like SteveK from Netherlands.
reference the attachment, which is from 210.065 model. check out the
options for mirror glass.
now reference Mister Brenton's price list. though a little older list, the relative
cost is still very informative. then, compare this with what the dealer is asking
for them. ouch.
now, let me highlight an aftermarket vendor who is in the UK. several reports
from forum members have given this outfit good thumbs up, even if they are
unable to provide exact feature replacement glass. his prices kicks *** and
for those of us who are frugal, this may be a very viable option to consider.
