Question poping sound in front end

I have 84,000 mi on my '99 E430 and have just recently noticed a sort of very faint poping noise that I can barely feel thru floor board when the car is for instance being turned into a driveway while simultaneously braking. Any thoughts would be helpful as to what that is.

First thing I'd check are the front lower control arm bushings, especially with over 80,000 miles on the car.

I had the same noise. It occured when releasing the brake pedal after a slow turn. Made a clicking sound from the front. I never worried about it since it was faint. However, when I replaced my front brake pads, the noise went away. I wonder if it has something to do with the anti rattle clip for the brake pads.

2006 E500 4matic Wagon
I just had the front lower control-arm bushings replaced on my 1998 E320 4matic (58k miles). I read in the most recent issue of "The Star" (MBCA's journal) that this is a common problem with the W210. Since I had the bushings replaced last week (covered under Starmark), the car feels tighter, and the only popping noise I hear is my damn seat back!!

I had the same problem

I had the same problem with my 97 e300 (97,000 miles). It would make a popping noise when ever I would go over a bump. So I had the lower control arm bushings replaced on both sides one month ago. That didn't solve the problem, so they installed new drag links with bushings. That still didn't fix it.. Mine ended up being the swaybar bushings. After going that far, I told them to replace the motor mounts for good measure. Now I have no noises, and the car rides like brand new. I hope some of that is helpful to you.

Good Luck,
Dennis

So basically, check ALL of the bushings right? Is it common to for them to go out at about 100k miles? Anyone have any pictures of the bushings in question? Looks like there's another post related to this problem.

Front end clunking

Thanks

It was the sway bar links. Check out the previous post and the thread "front end clunking"
