2001 E320 4matic Transmission flush and filter
hello
wanted to know is there a link for diy transmission flush and filter change for a 2001 E320 4matic. Should the torque converter be removed also and any other filters?
thanks

www.benzworld.org w210 diy section.
you don't have a torque converter drain plug on your model year so to full drain you need the yumling derivative
cleanliness is next to Godliness in whatever method you choose.
And never flush

No drain on your torque convertor. There is a filter in the transmission pan. You can get a kit which contains the filter and the pan gasket. And you need a small round seal for the drain plug. You will need a replacement dipstick tube seal - it's a small red plastic key and a dipstick tool to set the level. Make sure the trans fluid is at full temp before setting the final level or you may overfill.
Details are at site mentioned. If you have questions post.
I don't often recommend considering the dealer except for SDS required work and 4 wheel alignments but you might want to compare the cost at the dealership vs. DIY. Especially if you don't have all the tools needed. They have a fluid exchange machine which will do a thorough job of removing the old fluid while you munch on pastries and good coffee. Your call.
Good luck.

Some have posted out here that the filter change is probably not necessary. It is a SS wire mesh style filter. Mine didn't have anything on it after 122K but I changed it since I had a new one.
Fluid is about $15/l and you need about 8 or 9 for a complete change. So $135 for fluid plus $113 for labor.
One advantage of dropping the pan is that you can inspect the bottom for any debris which might indicate excessive transmission wear.
Good luck.
