engine oil warning
I just had my oil changed yesterday by a very reputable place and the "engine oil warning visit workshop" indicator came on.
I checked it and the levels are good. Not too much and not too little.
Is there something that I or they should have done to reset this indicator after the oil change?

thanks,
I however do not have a manual. I bought the car from the original owner, but he had recently moved and lost a few boxes in the move and manuals for both of his cars are were in the boxes. If you have some quick directions I would greatly appreciate it.

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
Then go to www.mbusa.com, sign up and you'll be able to download the manual to your car in .pdf format.

Resetting the service interval indicator
can be found here if you use the search feature and look for fss reset.Or in the very extensive diy section on www.benzworld.org w210forum
Oil level warning is not part of that reset
either it is over or underfilled by a slight bit enough to trigger the warning or the oil level sensor on the oil pan is faulty or someone jiggled the harness loose.
If it was properly done via the suction method nobody should have been under the engine to do the oil change.
How did the shop do the change?
if the level is correct and the sensor is good the warning will go out itself.
if it was on when you picked up the car maybe someone had started it before it was final checked for level.
I always underfill slightly run it let it sit and do final level set.

I just called MB, since the online registration wouldn't take my VIN and found out the owner's manuals online are only available for 2002 and up. A hard copy ends up being about $27 including tax and shipping, but they are back ordered for my 1996.

96 does not have interval check if my car is any example, the oil warning only comes if the oil level is so low, if you say the level is good , then I think it’s the sensor or it's connections <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
I have the manual for 96 I can pdf the pages needed for you if 96 E320 is your car
