Becker Radio 1692 Code
Hi,
I just made a mistake and disconnected the radio. Can anybody possibly help me?
-- I'd rather not to go to the dealer.
Many thanks in advance.

the info is

just take in your papers to prove it is your car.
That is all the help anyone can give you.

If you don't want to go to the dealer (easiest way), you can fax a form to Becker (www.beckerautosound.com) along with proof of ownership and S/N.

Mistake
I was trying to figure out the wire harness diagram for the Cd changer; wrong wire touched and got the fuse burnt. Fixed it... but no code

Well, that was exactly what I was trying to do! - figuring out how possibly I can design and connect my iPod instead of the Cd changer ... getting the next/previous track function of the head unit to the iPod ... Kind of stupid advanture ... so far ...

Hey, you never know until you try.
Not sure why but Becker installs it's AUX IN by opening the radio and hard wiring to the CB. Also, they used to post schematics on their website but that is gone now.
I have a newer Becker (7882) and I made AUX IN cable for less than $10. I took a mini plug cable and added some small press on connectors to one end and attached it to the back of the radio (changer plug).

Found it. A nice guy in another forum figured it out for me based on the serial no...
Now I'll take my time and explore more about the AUX on 1692. I have seen somewhere on the net, there was only ONE though; that was offering a solution; it was a small unit to be connected to the CD changer harness and could REALLY get the functionality of the head unit (forward, fast forward, rewind, ...) to the iPod and make it work in true word. It was around $100 I guess. There are a bunch of similar solutions out there, that are AUX only, meaning sound only, no function and costs something between $100 to $300 - all sounds ridiculous to me.
If we opt out the charging option of an iPod; all iPods are equipped with a built-in feature on their earphone: the remote key that can rewind, jump next track, pause, etc. It's very simple and I guess can be easily integrated; if works, it is limited but way better than controlling music from the iPod while driving.

Dension's model is only an AUX and doesn't support any controlling function;
This is the one came across and supports the functions.

Does anybody know whether hooking up an OEM CD Changer to BECKER 1692, that has already the wire harness, but has never being attached to one, needs re-programming?
I was trying to get outgoing signals from the headunit to the changer in order to fool it, as if a changer is installed. But it seems the HU doesn't send any signal out through its communication wires. I have kind of figured out pin-outs, if anyone is interested. Any comments?
