W210 with AMG Package?
My car is a E420 1997 but a friend of mine just found and want to buy a car exactly like mine but the seller said that is a E420 AMG PACKAGE.
In my car id just recently install some new EIBACH Springs and Bilstein HD Shocks and my rims are AMG´s Monoblock but that equipment doesnt make it AMG PACKAGE!
Just a pricey option offered from the dealer to screw the customer that wanted to go cheap and not get the real AMG.
Or some poser that added the badges to make himself feel faster

I've searched here in Peru and talked to the main MB dealership and they only imported (2) W210 E55 AMG on those years.
One of them is a Government vehicle that had been bulletproofed and the other one is missing... id tried to contact the last owner but he sold it to another one that is probably dead and the widow had the car sleeping in a garage somewhere....
This days you could find in Lima a lot of the new AMG's..but a really few of the old ones that are so damn cool!

The car im talking about its EXACTLY like mine. No different bumpers o sideskirts..just AMG Wheels and an AMG BADGE.
My Baby (Sorry for the BB pic)
The 1997 E420 Sport was released before there was a mass market American AMG model (the E55 was in 1998/9, and the E50 and E60 were generally very limited). So it's possible the 1997 Sport models had AMG wheels, but not the bumpers. Someone else would have to confirm.
I'm pretty confident in saying that no car left the factory with an AMG sticker on the trunk unless it was a true AMG model (meaning AMG engine). Some dealers add the AMG badges, making people think it was factory, even though it wasn't. If it has an AMG badge and no AMG engine, I'm inclined to say either the dealer or previous owner added it.

A good set up for lowering your vehicle and giving a bit firmer ride are the H&K springs from The Tire Rack for the E420 mated with the Bilstein Sport shocks. The ride is lowered by about 1.7 inches and sits nicely. It is a progressive rate spring meaning as it becomes compressed the spring rates increases and gets stiffer. It is a firmer ride but not bone jarring. Corning is vastly improved with minimal roll. You will need a set of rear adjustable camber bolts (Kmac) or arms (check Ebay listings) for the W210 chassis.
When you had the first alignment done on the vehicle the dealer would have replaced the non adjustable front camber bolts with an eccentric adjustable camber bolt kit, so no new front camber kit would be necessary. Go with either a 17 inch or an 18 inch wheel with max front width at 8.5 and rear at 9.5. The Tire Rack will plus size your tire choices for you for the larger wheels so nothing looks out of spec

Posers do it all the time and call their 430 sedan an E430AMG which it is not nor will ever be.
