W210 with AMG Package?

There is such thing as a Mercedes Benz 1997 E420 AMG PACKAGE?

My car is a E420 1997 but a friend of mine just found and want to buy a car exactly like mine but the seller said that is a E420 AMG PACKAGE.

In my car id just recently install some new EIBACH Springs and Bilstein HD Shocks and my rims are AMG´s Monoblock but that equipment doesnt make it AMG PACKAGE!

Don't think so but it might be a sport package.

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
AMG

dress up pkg.
Just a pricey option offered from the dealer to screw the customer that wanted to go cheap and not get the real AMG.
Or some poser that added the badges to make himself feel faster

i swear i will never add an AMG badge to my E420!

I've searched here in Peru and talked to the main MB dealership and they only imported (2) W210 E55 AMG on those years.

One of them is a Government vehicle that had been bulletproofed and the other one is missing... id tried to contact the last owner but he sold it to another one that is probably dead and the widow had the car sleeping in a garage somewhere....

This days you could find in Lima a lot of the new AMG's..but a really few of the old ones that are so damn cool!

There was a C36 AMG sedan in those years (1995-1997). I don't think it was offered in the US. Maybe in SoAm.

It's technically the Sport package, which includes AMG bumpers, sideskirts, and wheels, hence some people call it the AMG package.

Sorry, I may have been off on the year. The 2000+ sport package included AMG bumpers, side skirts, and wheels. It did not include an AMG badge.

The 1997 E420 Sport was released before there was a mass market American AMG model (the E55 was in 1998/9, and the E50 and E60 were generally very limited). So it's possible the 1997 Sport models had AMG wheels, but not the bumpers. Someone else would have to confirm.

I'm pretty confident in saying that no car left the factory with an AMG sticker on the trunk unless it was a true AMG model (meaning AMG engine). Some dealers add the AMG badges, making people think it was factory, even though it wasn't. If it has an AMG badge and no AMG engine, I'm inclined to say either the dealer or previous owner added it.

Self leveling does not determine spring rates. Take your VIN (vehicle identification number) and call the local dealer and have them decode it for you as a courtesy. That will give you all the options the vehicle came with.

A good set up for lowering your vehicle and giving a bit firmer ride are the H&K springs from The Tire Rack for the E420 mated with the Bilstein Sport shocks. The ride is lowered by about 1.7 inches and sits nicely. It is a progressive rate spring meaning as it becomes compressed the spring rates increases and gets stiffer. It is a firmer ride but not bone jarring. Corning is vastly improved with minimal roll. You will need a set of rear adjustable camber bolts (Kmac) or arms (check Ebay listings) for the W210 chassis.

When you had the first alignment done on the vehicle the dealer would have replaced the non adjustable front camber bolts with an eccentric adjustable camber bolt kit, so no new front camber kit would be necessary. Go with either a 17 inch or an 18 inch wheel with max front width at 8.5 and rear at 9.5. The Tire Rack will plus size your tire choices for you for the larger wheels so nothing looks out of spec.

this is pretty interesting... just bought my first ever MB, a 98 e430 and it has an amg kit on it. I looked under my rear bumper and saw it was stamped with AMG (something German) w210, under that part number, last thing said made in Germany. My front fogs are round too and not square like most I have seen in here. And it does have an AMG badge on the back which I am most likely gonna take off. I might just debadge it all anyways. Previous owner said he bought it like that from the dealer where the original owner traded it in....

1999 E430 Sport
The Sport package did not start in 2000. My E430 Sport is a 1999. On the build sheet the lower body kit is referred to as "AMG". There is no AMG badge on the car, that's just on the E55 model. The bumper with the round fog lights is part of the sport package, along with the 17 inch wheels.

E430`is not an AMG

so even if it has an AMG cover on it does not make it an AMG.
Posers do it all the time and call their 430 sedan an E430AMG which it is not nor will ever be.

that lower bumper (although may be original AMG) did not come as an option on that car in that year. as everyone else has been saying its a 2000+ year option. Your car though, looks awesome.

Hey guys!! Merry Christmas!! I Just wanted to jump in here on this one as my 1st MB ever was purchased February this year and I love it! It's the E430 Sport also with the AMG wheels and trim, like the one in the pic above but without the black top. But it is definitely not the AMG... Wish it was though.. That would be a lot of fun!
