sunroof operation problem
1998 E 320 wagon - My sunroof doesn't operate properly anymore. Worked fine last fall, never opened it during the winter. Now it's sort of spring, tried to open it and the switch seems to be screwed up. The positions on the switch all seem to correct, no binding up or obvious contact problems.. It opens fine in the pop up mode and slide back mode, but doesn't close when the switch is moved to "shut" in either mode. The only way to close from "slide back" open position is to select open pop up mode. That slides it forward and you let go just before the window pops up. Anybody been thru this before? What's your solution??

Make sure the track is
clean of any dirt or such.
Then try syncing the switch by opening the roof with your convenience feature on your remote key. when open keep holding for a few seconds use the same feature to close and hold a few seconds.
Start there.
