just met a guy last week who bought one in white. immaculate looking with
tinted windows, otherwise looking very stock in appearance. it will be interesting
to see what he does to it. he's already lowered it an inch right off and changing
the 10-holers to monoblocs.
keep an eye out, ohlord. he's in your neighborhood

I would not put my money into a 300D. There dogs!! However if you want a good 99 diesel look to the 300 TD-----quick cars and easy to work on and maintain!! Good luck.

i had loaned my radio keys to the diesel guy and he does have the TD.
so now that I know from Plutoe that this is the more desirable of the two,
I asked to peek under the hood. super clean, 100k miles and he purchased
well below book value. his engine lives off some blend of canola oil and
other secret spices. now i want one....so i can spend my time blending
concoctions in my garage. are you kidding me?....approx 40¢ a gallon
for fuel ?! that's friggin awesome!

raymond g, how'd you get a picture of me?
Didn't see you snap that pic of my bio processor.....
I found the one raymond g mentioned in San Diego. Was worth the flight from Seattle. Took a month of dedicated searching to find one with the qualities I needed. Couldnt get picky about color though; I feel like I'm driving Mama's car... Thats why it's gotta be lowered and have monoblocks...
I totally agree with the point of a td versus d. Drove quiet a few of both in my search, and there's little comparison. Although the normally-aspirated ones were as powerful as my old BMW turbo diesel.
As michakaveli noted, people think they can run anything in the diesels, but ya gotta be careful. Well-processed biodiesel, with no additives can be pretty good for the powerplant. Lots of info on doing it right out in the web. Ran my 85 BMW 524td on bio for 411k miles.......
I love the 99 E300 TD! These forums make it possible to do good research and keep 'em running.
