Double Din Nav System

Can I put a double din nav system in my e320 2002?...I'm being told that I can only put in a single din flip system.

Double Din Nav System

That's the look I'm looking for! (Awesome) When you said "replace the faceplate and the brackets from a car that was equipped with navi" I'm assuming you're talking another benz. What model did you get yours out of? and how much? What year is your E320? I apolgize for all the questions.

I'm being told that our factory steros may be running off of fiber-optics, is that true?

Thanks

Very cool. Could you post more specifics on what was used and how it was done? And could you post more of a close-up?

Thank you,

You will need a few parts,The nav double din cage to hold the nav,The replacement wood panel with correct options,Comand unit, wire pin and connectors, the antenna .... For that you can you wire the vehicle for the original one or use a 203 antenna the can be placed under the dash.
the center console should be removed to install the double din cage behind the dash.

Pics on the Mbenznl.com site under e class section as I added several options all factory MB

After correctly installing everything, you need to have the car coded with stardiag (at the dealer) to get comand integration and control in the cluster.

You can order the Navi 2.0 unit refurbished from ebay online for about 359$ US, the support bracket from MyMercedesParts.com for about 39$ US and the face cover from the same source for about 254$ US if any are left in stock. You will then need the adapter harness to make it all come together. All the connections are unique so there won't be any mistakes. The CD changer runs on fiber optics and plugs directly into the back of the Navi unit under the green tab.

You DO NOT need to have the car Star coded. It will work just fine through the instrument cluster as is. You will need to get the antenna Mark mentioned or wire to the original.
