2001 w210 will not crank (sometimes)
Hi,
My 2001 w210 will not crank sometimes. The key turns, nothing happens.
If a wait 5-10 minutes and try again is starts.
This problem has been becoming more and more frequent.
When the car will not crank, it will not in either Park or Neutral.
When the car starts it runs well!
I have tryed both of my key fobs, and they both act the same.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Has anyone had a similar problem? Please help.
Every morning now my car will not start. No crank. If I sit is the car and keep turning the key it will eventually start. Takes perhaps 5-10 minutes.
As soon an it decides to crank it starts immediately and will run weel for the rest of the day....next morning same story.
Any suggestions appreciated.

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Have you
examined and cleaned the battery connections?
Lift rear seat, take a look, remove and clean,be sure key is not in ignition while doing so. Disconnect negative post first and install it last. Clean post with some 120 grit sandpaper.
See if that helps.

Thank you for the idea. I did clean up the battery terminals but this morning same story, the car will not crank.
I believe one of the relays/switches between the key switch and the starter has an intermittent fault, just not sure how to diagnose.
Thanks again
