it's my fault, but since i've been insuring with them for the past 8 years they're not raising my premium, i'm just losing my 5 yr good driving discount, 100 something a year....

That is one of the reason I hate SUV and trucks. The are so high they cause to much body damage on cars. The SUV bumper hits your upper car and your bumper is untouched.

i've seen the work this body shop does; it's actually the body shop of my local mb/bmw dealer; they did body work on my friend's 7 series and it came out looking great. i know what you mean about how some colors are hard to match....
since my car is a metallic black, i'm hoping the shine and metallic will come out nice...
and everything up front will line up correctly...
jimmydagreek.... i know i'd have to change the entire front end to be able to fit a MY00+ AMG bumper on the front, but what about the side skirts and the rear apron?

you're right...the MY00+ AMG skirts and rear valence look 10 times better than the pre-2000 because they're more contoured, i really like the "crying eye" look of the front amg bumper foglights, too...too bad they're already more than half done fixing my car....

thats right near me
Thats around me. I get off the LIE at the cross Island south and get off the cross Island at francis lewis. If you need a body shop and your insurance is paying I have an excellent shop for you to use. They are working on my car now and I went to visit it today and it looks like it came off the assembly line.
They will also work with you in terms of body kits...and...they will fully detail your car when its done.
Let me know if you are interested. This shop (im pretty sure) handles Competition's cars and Anchor audis cars.

thanks for the offer!! rallye's body shop is already working on it, though, they've done body work to my other cars, and it always looks pristine.
don't you hate all that construction on the LIE?

i really hate construction
construction makes the LIE the worlds biggest parking lot!
Also, I think the construction is older than my 18 year old nephew. At least they got the air train construction done in a reasonable time on the Van Wyck. In my opinion, what they should do is reroute all traffic to the GCP from 12-5AM and finish the damn construction on the LIE.

i agree with you, that LIE is the worst
not like the GCP is any better in the afternoons, either
i was actually on the LIE today and saw another accident, just like what happened to me, only it wasn't a navigator in front, it was a land cruiser, and an 01 E430 4 matic.....<sigh>

with all the construction of course
with all the never ending construction there are going to be alot of accidents. Some lanes are so narrow because of construction that I am sometimes actually scared to drive in them.
Speaking of construction, they have been redoing the main road to which my block connects and as a result, we have to travel about 2 miles out of the way to get to where we want to go.
Believe it or not, the rental car that the other guy's insurance had to pay for which is a 2003 buick century takes the unpaved road and you barely even feel it. I took the clk on it once and it felt like it was ready to fall apart onthe unpaved road. Probably cause the buick has huge coil springs.
Anyway, I think that if you can prove the construction in any way, shape or form caused damage to your car or caused you to lose control and get in an accident, someone should be held liable other than the drivers insurance.

i wish that were the case; the section i was on was smooth, newly paved
so probably nothing i can do...
that construction is terrible, i can't believe you have to go in a big circle to get to where you wanna go. i believe you that the big century can take those bumps, you have high profile tires and big coils in that boat; the CLK has lower profiles and sportier suspension....but i bet you can take corners while that century will lean and understeer...

absolutely
absolutely. im scared to take turns in the century. It feels like you are going to roll over. Anyway, its good until they finish the road.
Besides, a rental car is the only thing besides a hummer that can go anywhere.

lol..u got ur car back faster than me.
My car is coming back from the collision shop hopefully tuesday. I visited it again today and all the paintwork is done. It really looks like it just came off the assembly line. Tomorrow and monday they should be finishing up with the bumper and headlights and detailing the car.
Ill post pics here too when its done

lol well it's SUPPOSED to be finished, who knows, right?
they have to detail it and take out the door dings per my request, because my front passenger door has like 8 dings
that's the only door, too, and i always park in an end space all the way to the outside....

paintless dent removal
I dont really think paintless dent removal works too well. I know conventional dent removal costs more and takes longer, but I feel its results are perfect everytime and well worth the wait.

really?
really? so the guy sticking the bar or whatever it is behind the door and pushing it out doesn't do a great job, huh? I was actually looking at the guy do it today, and it came out quite nice, now they just have to detail the car, and run it through QC, to check if the headlights work, washers work, blah blah blah
they ended up just using my original bumper, actually, since it wasn't damaged, just a little scratch on top (sorry to the people who wanted to buy it off me!)
