(*_LIMP MODE, EVEN AFTER AT PLUG CHANGE & ETC CLEAN_*)
JUST DID THE AT PLUG CHANGE EARLIER TODAY AND CLEANING OF THE TCU AKA ETC , BUT UNFORTUNATELY I STILL GOT A "LIMP MODE 40 MINS LATER AFTER COMING OUT OF A SUPERMARKET PARKING LOT !!!!! GrRr... I EVEN GOT A TERRIBLE TRANSMISSION SLIP ALL THE WAY TO NEUTRAL RIGHT BEFORE ENTERING THE FREEWAY !! WOW NEVER HAPPEND TO ME ! DARNN ...I WONDER WHAT THIS MIGHT BE OR WHAT STEPS IM STILL NEEDING TO TAKE TO GET THIS TERRIBLE LIMP !!

BELLOW IM DESCRIBING THE WHOLE PROCESS TAKEN,,,,,
I OPENED UP THE ELECTRICAL COMPARTMENT UNDER THE HOOD INFRONT OF PASSENNGER SIDE AND REMOVED THE ECT.... CLEANED OUT THE ENTIRE ETC AS BEST AS I CAN, BY SPRAYING IT CLEAN WITH MAF CRC CLEANER AND EVEN DIPPED THE ETC IN ALCOHOL TO RELEASE SOME OF THAT ATF FLUID THAT WAS STILL INSIDE....THEN SPRAYED CLEAN THAT WHOLE ENTIRE AREA INSIDE THAT COMPARTMENT WHICH WAS FULL OF THE ATF FLUID...EVEN SPARYED A LIL ALCOHOL IN COMBINATION WITH THE MAF CLEANER TO GET ALL OF THAT OIL OUT....THEN AFTER CLEANING ALL THAT OIL FROM THE TOP, WE THEN LIFTED THE CAR TO REPLACE THE AT PLUG,.CLEANED THE MALE PART OF THE HARNESS OUT WITH MAF CLEANER TOO AND ALL ARROUND THE HARNESS BEFORE PLUGGING IT BACK IN' & REFILLED ATF FLUID THAT WAS LOST DURING THIS PROCESS..AFTER THAT DROVE ARROUND THE CITY AND THE UNFURTUNATE HAPPENED, GOT ANOTHER LIMP MODE AND TERRIBLE TRANS SLIP TO NEUTRAL....PLEASE HELPPP![Confused](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)

How did you clean the transmission control unit? Mine was "filled" with some sort of liquid -- no idea how it go there in the first place. I started by draining it out but that only gets so much out. I was hoping that I can pull the board out of the casing but I have not found a way to do that. In my case the part number of the TCU is 020 545 93 32. Thanks.

CLEANING IT WAS CRAZY...THERE WAS A WHOLE LOAD OF ATF FLUID ALL OVER THE HARNESS OF THE TCU AND ON THE TCU ITSELF...CLEANED IT WITH MAF CLEANER AND A COMPRESSOR SPRAY GUN THAT LET OF MIXTURE OF AIR AND ALCOHOL...IM THINKING ITS THE TCU/ECU THAT MIGHT BE STILL DIRTY INSIDE OR SOMETHING OR MAYBE ITS BROKE...CANT REALLY TELL....

hows your atf level? Open your TCU up and clean it off with brake cleaner and blow air on it. Make sure you clean out the connector that goes into the plug because fluid sits in there.

atf level is ok......wasnt able to fully pry i open but was able to briefly open it to spray some maf cleaner solution inside of it and getting sum residue of fluid....re-cleaned the connectors and cables a little ..lets see if that makes any diffrence cause there is no after market for these tcu...only used/ or dealer available..
