1999 E430
I have an 1999 E430 that a friend of mine wants me to sell for him. My main problem is in determining a fair price. It is a one owner, Arizona car with 48,000 miles. I have never seen a used car so much like new. It is smoke silver with tan leather interior. The service is up to date and new Michelins were installed about 500 miles ago.
Checking KBB, the private party value is about $14,000 but I don't believe that properly represents the market. If any car should sell at a maximum value, this one would be the one.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jim

Car
Try taking a look at the market around you and compare it to the rest of the country through listings on AutoTrader. You should be able to determine a good, average price from that. The low mileage should really help on the value though.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I believe that this car should bring the maximum price since it so much like new and a non smoker, always in Arizona car. I haven't advertised it since I really don't know what to ask. I have tried to check values and they range all over the place.
This car belongs to one of my closest friends and was his wife's car, who died a few months ago. He let me borrow it while waiting for my new E350 to arrive. Now that my car is here, I need to do the best for him considering what he did for me.

Try checking for an appraisal at the Edmunds site. KBB is usually way high. There are buyers who will pay extra for a low mileage W210 but you might have to wait awhile for them to show up.

Pre facelift
Even low miles, new owner is looking at major A service and past due for Plugs.
unless they are a forum member and DIY.
Is the cars dash cracked from az heat?
Has the recall on the harmonic balancer been done if one of the affected models?
Look for a forum member back east looking for a truly rust free example or a Mn
Wi etc that wants rust free.
KBB is so out of line, you might get 7K on a real real good day.
Or to a member that really knows what he wants.
Transmission is past due for service.
post it in the forum for sale also on benzworld.org w210 at 7.5 obo pray for 61/2
SUB 75K mile 99's were going for 9K 4 years ago. A 50K mile W210 car does not demand the kind of money most would wish.

You are scaring me with those prices. The car does not have any heat damage. The paint, dash and leather look like new. The car has spent most of its time inside. Recent service included engine mounts, serpentine belt, transmission fluid and filter changed. New Michelins were put on last month. You simply don't find them any finer than this car. If you could see the car you would realize how special it really is. I have checked some prices and it looked like $10K would be a steal. If it wasn't that I just bought a 2012 E350 I would buy the car myself.
I do thank you for your inputs. You may be right.
