Color code for 2001 silver E240?
Hi guys, Im looking for the color code for a 2001 W210 silver, because i want to get some touch up paint from Dr. Colorchip.
But my only concern is those strips along the bumper is slightly darker silver, almost like grey. Any idea on how to find the color code for that?
Here is a pic of the exact same color and year and wheels lol, don't have a pic with me right now. Its really just the most common silver.
Any help would be great, im really looking forward to clean up this baby when i go home for christmas. thanks!

Look on the ID plate on the radiator support.
The first number is the interior code - 208 in my case
The second number is the exterior - 744 (Brilliant Silver a popular MB color)
I don't think there is a different color for the bumper. Different materials look slightly different. And paint fades differently as well. Hope this helps some.

thanks for the reply, yea its most likely brilliant silver.
But I really do think those parts around the bumper can be a different color, it is different material its more like plastic, its significantly darker.
im not sure if i just apply brilliant silver on it, just because its different material would it that much darker.

In Europe we have three different trim levels that had their effect on the door- and bumperstrips;
Classic has the strips in a different colortone.
Elegance has strips in a different colortone but with chrome lining.
Avantgarde has the strips painted in matching color with chrome lining.
I believe Avantgarde is called 'Sport' in the US, Elegance is the 'standard' trim and they never had Classic overthere?!
Mine is Elegance package, I asked the dealer and there's no color code for the darker shade of silver on my strips. They can only order the part and it comes in color.
On the picture you posted it's an Elegance package w210 and it has darker shade silver strips as should be. On my inlaws' Avantgarde W210 the strips are in matching color...

Thanks for asking the dealer! You know exactly what i am talking about. Because my E240 is in Hong Kong, so it is elegance. That really sucks that they dont even have a color code for that part. Buying new strips is gonna cost a lot more than just paint...I was gonna surprise my mom by painting it for her lol

Any good paint
shop that supplies automotive paint will have a scan gun that they lay on the paint and it matches the color in the computer. Then they mix it up and you spray both bumpers or strips to match.
