97' E320 - Trying to remove power head rests?

Hello - I am trying to remove the headrests off my 97 E320. I cant see any "release" features like the manual headrests on my wifes KIA. Any tips/help would be greatly appreciated!

Don't do that, just recline the seat, then raise the head restraint all the way using the swich and simply pull it out.

NEG .. but i think i am not lowering the seat far enouhg. I have kid car seats in the back, and only lowered it until it hit the car seat. It would not release no matter what i tried. Do i need to lower it ALL THE WAY back & down to get it to release???

As per page 120 of the Owners Manual

Front seat head restraint, removal

Removal:

Push head restraint button up to bring the power
adjustable head restraint to its highest
position.
Pull out head restraint completely with
both hands.

Installation:

Push adjustment button of the power adjustable
head restraint up for approximately 5
seconds.
Insert the head restraint and push it
down to the stop.
Adjust head restraint to the desired
position.

As for reclining the seat you only need to move it far enough so that the head restraint has enough clearance to move upwards without hitting the headliner.

Good luck.
