Yet another wheel question.........
I don't know if I'm not looking in the right places, or if im talking to the wrong people. I want to know what are the widest wheels I can stuff into the wheel wells?? I'm looking at 19x8.5 for the front and 19x10 in the rear. 245-35-19 front and 275-30-19 rear. Am I off my rocker like some say?? I really have my heart set on a certain set of wheels and don't want to go back to the drawing board

How wide can I go? I know offset will play a huge factor. Everywhere I have asked has said I can't go wider then 8 front and 9.5 rear. I ask why and they say fender issue or suspension. I would love a clear answer

the response you were given is sound. what makes you suspect that it's vague
or unclear? depending on the offset, it may be the suspension (too high an
offset), or the wheel arch lip (too low an offset) that will make contact with
the tire.
no one can really answer you definitively unless you provide offset, wheel width,
and the tire size you're selecting.

Width is nothing without offset.
For your mentioned setup to work consider something like:
F: 19 x 8.5 ET 30-35
R: 19 x 10 ET 30-32
Fender side, you will need a guard roll, perhaps a bit of camber and I'd recommend 265s on the rear.

^+1. with those offsets, you won't have problems with an 8.5/10 setup. just get the fenders rolled to avoid contact between the tire and fender.
and also, try not to go wider than 265 in the rear to avoid rubbing.

I can't provide offset yet as the wheels have not been made yet. I want the Vossen CV3's. Vossen only makes them in 20s currently, but have said that by the end of July, they will be available in 19x8.5 and 19x10

they will fit, but the down side with ET20 is that you will really have to extend
your fender flaring big time. the cost will be much higher than a simple wheel
lip roll. the tire you use to maintain speedo and odo accuracy will be very low
profile that your ride will suffer (if that matters to you)
duh....he didn't mean 20 ET. he meant 20"

Contemplating
the purchase of a set of rims and tires for over half the value of the car is
Ruining the ride quality is secondary to the issue?

I ran 19x8.5 ET37 with 245 35 BFG KDW2's on all four corners for about 2 years. There was some rubbing up front so a few months ago I switched to 235 Nitto Invo's. The Nittos appear to have a more rounded shoulder then the BFG's and would have probably been fine at 245.

Hey if you
have $3600 to ruin your ride quality and burn through a grand of tires on a yearly basis, have kids on skateboards out maneuver you,Like avoiding every pothole in the county, enjoy.
Remember it was you that asked the question about 19's 10 inches wide rims with
275/30/19 installed. Sure they will fit just fine And you ill have no problems at all.Whatsoever.
You be sure to tell everyone how much clearance you have after losing nearly an inch towards the rear suspension and almost 2 inches pushed out towards the rear fenders.
