Door Trim/Molding Help
2000 E320 and I am desperately looking for the trim/molding that snaps on the bottom lip of the front doors (both driver and passenger side). It is black molding that snaps up into the door from the bottom of the doors and runs the entire length. I took my car through an automatic car wash (which I hate doing) and it ripped both moldings from the front doors. Now I am fearing that I will be getting water inside the doors, which of course will quickly lead to rust from the inside out. I have checked every online resource that I have bookmarked (including the sponsor of this page) and have had no luck. Is this a dealer part only? Thanks for any ehlp you can provide.

you can check MBUSA's Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) for free. requires credit
card verification to be sure you live in the US.
you can also view the exploded parts diagram from the Russian site as well.
locate the part # and do a google search. approx $20 dealer cost, so factor
in the retail mark up.

Re: Thanks Raymond
Was trying to download the parts diagram but it was taking forever and kept stalling (and I have a cable connection). I'll try again tomorrow. Will also try out the EPC . I attempted to use one of the Visa test numbers in place of my actual account number but it wouldn't work (first time I have ever encountered that issue), so I will register on that site tomorrow as well.

Re: Web Site
Raymond, that site is the cat's meow! That is going to be so damn useful. I do have a question: I found the moldings with no problem but they are labeled left door and right door instead of driver and passenger. Do you have any idea which door is considered the left door and which is considered the right door? I assume left is the driver door but you never know with foreign material.
Thanks again!

left v right orientation is usually based on viewpoint while sitting inside the car.
so I would say left=driver's door, and right=passenger's door. i don't think this
would be any different if we spoke Russian or 'Merkin etc
how about this: since you said you needed both rubbers, you order one of each
and either way, you'll get the both doors covered. what do you think?

re: Answer
I agree 100% about being covered with both moldings but I was thinking for any future orders. This site is exactly what I have been looking for and wish I knew about it a couple of months ago.

Mission Accomplished!
Thanks Raymond...with your assistance I was able to identify the part number and Peach Parts was able to special order the parts for me...$17 each (not too bad).

Adhesive
Would anyone happen to know if the bottom ledge trim pieces have self-adhesive on them or will I need to purchase some type of adhesive to use when installing them? When I pulled the old ones off, even though they have pegs, it appeared as though there might have been some adhesive applied around the pegs when the trim was originally installed. Because the parts were special ordered, Peach Parts had no idea if the trim had self-adhesive strips on them or not.
If I do in fact need to purchase adhesive does anyone recommend a certain type/brand?
Thanks again!

It just pops on using the specific poppers. Self adhesive tape might be a good idea...but could trap water.
