e430 cat problem

Hi guys having problem with my old baby 2000 e430 sport(120K)/that i keep in the garage must of the time/i have notice that the car has lost power little by little to the point that you press the pedal to the metal and it lags to reach 5-6k RPM
slow as turtle than again my daily driver i cannot compare apple to oranges. but i remenber this car had more power and lately all the sudden it start misfiring/and occassion it shuts off/the CEL came on and the code was P0100 mass or volume air flow A circuit/ I went a bought a new Maf sensor at the stealership and the same BS. So got tire and took in to the local Merc Dealer
and they said that the problem is all four Catalytics are plug up/inside and it will take $1600 to replace all four of then and of course i told them NO WAY.
Not until i check with my extended family in MB world. Sorry for the long tread guys. The car runs ok one day the bad the next. What do you guys think? thank you in advance! Ohlord fill free to chime in

I can't imagine that your local Mercedes dealer would replace all 4 cats for $1,600. Nope - Not even if he used after market parts from BFT.

sorry guys i just look at the estimate/is the front left and right cats
my mistake. is it true that magnaflow make replacements for the front cat or is it universal fit cut and weld? would that be the cheapest way out? And is it true that plug cat can cause the misfire on occ that my car has.

I would have a look at Magnaflow. Several people have had good success with their products.

I'm a bit confused - If all 4 cats are bad, why did the dealer only quote replacing the front 2? Did that price include new O2 sensors?

no the dealer said that the front right and left were plug up and that was causing the car to misfire/rough idle. I thought the dealer had said all 4 but actually said is the 2 front one. I just got off the phone with one of the tech for Magnaflow and said that they only had replacement for the 4matic model e430
NOT the base model? has anybody replace the front one with magnaflow and if you had which model?
