Hey guys, My 1999 E430 was driving well before and recently, like about a month or two ago i have noticed that sometimes at a stoplight or turning and then accelerating or even at rolling and acceleration that when i press on the gas the engine revs up to 3,500 rpm and then kinda acts like a turbo just rams it way to 6000 (red line). It is like the car is sensing the gas pedal at full throttle like a good 15 seconds after i full throttle it !! It is very weird, so i took it my local import auto shop and they said it could be the throttle sensor. So before i repair something that might not be the problem, i wanted to ask for opinions. So help me figure this out, please?

 

Lol, actually I described the problem to him and he just said that it could be that and my Carl's before owner was an car abuser and he did not take care of the car that much and my car before I bought it, it had been sitting in the garage for a year or two with only like once a month driving for five mins, so it be that and I will ask my buddy to do a scan see what the scan tells me

 

Should the scan be free or is going to cost me, because where ever i ask an auto shop to do a scan they are asking me about an hour worth of labor money!! So i dont know where to go and ask for it??

Ok i am ready to pay, but the thing is that the MB dealer near me is asking for about $350 for the DAS Xentry scan, but my local import auto shop, Allspeed, is only charging me about $95 for scanning with i think he said grumen or goodman or something like that. So is that good?? I know that the DAS Xentry is going to be good but cant spend that much just for a scan right now. Because i am getting a scholarship by the end of this week or beginning of next week and i am using that money to fix the balljoint, wheel bearings, front brake, engine and trans mount and the drive belt. That money is actually not going to be enough and so i putting some out of pocket money. I am also buying all the parts i can find from autohausaz.com So i am on a very tight budget. So please help Hirnbeiss!!

 

$350 is clearly highway robbery, but I couldn't tell you about the other scanner. It sounds like you have time to call around and check forbother options. You could lways take a trip to Plutoe's shop

So Victoria I would love to come to you for help because you sound like you know what you are doing and you price is very reasonable! I would really like to come to you for help but it depends on where you are located.

He has no shop. He bought his first and only Diesel mercedes a few years ago and needed help changing a light bulb and ordering parts.He went under a different screen name until everyone got good and sick of his inane posts.
Failed to point out in another recent post about P0105 code that a MAP sensor code is not the same as A MAF sensor code(good luck repairing a MAP sensor related code by replacing the wrong part entirely).
So obviously has not a clue about Mercedes related diagnostics.
Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor issues would be common knowledge to any mercedes mechanic with a modicum of knowledge and MAF related codes and circuit failure codes could be called to mind in a real Mercedes Tech or good Diy'r in their sleep. . That is why he was banned from benzworld for life and eventually will be banned for passing out bum(costly) information on here for life (or longer)

OMG WHAT KIND OF DRUNK, HIGH AND CRAZY GUY IS HE?? He dosent even have a shop and he was giving all that bs about how he does the DAS scan and hands the print out and even Hirnbeiss told me that Plutoe has a shop! Man if Plutoe didn't act completely crazy or ohlord didn't tell me I would have probably went to his house/shop?? Thanks very much for the info and why is he still not banned yet?? If I can do some thing about it, I will do it to get him banned because he is respond with misinformation to almost all of the new posts and newbies.

 

Hey guys, got my scan done today because i got scholarship money today. So everything good except one. i got a PO443 code i believe its a Evaporator Emission Purge Valve leak and so i wanted to know what that is? and how to fix it? is it a DIY? i also have attached couple of pics of what i think is the purge valve and my other question is that like said in my other post, the whole cabin vibrates to the engine when in reverse or on the brakes (stopped) and my mechanic said that it is the engine mounts gone bad and so why didnt that show on the scan? and same with the wheel bearings, my mechanic said that i have to replace them and so why did not show in the scan report? By the way i found another place to do the scan and they charged me $45 for the scan and i have attached the pic of the scan report.

 

Wow... you really don't have a clue do you? How can a scan of the electronics of your car point to bad wheel bearings and engine mounts.
