some parts replaced... still gotta do more..

So I had a pretty good weekend, I finally got to jump on a few things my car has been so desperately needing. I replaced my alternator, (which died Friday). I also got to remove, clean out and replace my EGR valve and tubing, new plugs, air filter, oil change and transmission filter/fluid. I still have a couple of things that need attention however! I need to figure out my third break light, (new bulb, new assembly and still not working... Prob a ground)I have to replace my transmission mounts (any info on this would be great!). I have to do something with my front end? The drivers side caster is out 1.3 deg too far forward causing the car to pull. I'm also not sure what to do to correct this yet as well, so info needed on this as well. I've gotta replace the bulb in my HVAC control panel that's blown. no clue there yet either? I also have to track down a passengers side corner marker w/ bulb and wires (mine fried). If anyone can help with any of this I'd greatly appreciate it!

You said you replaced the third brake light assembly. Does that include everything above the package shelf? On my '97, and a number of others I have read about, one of the spring contacts that presses down on the plate type contact in the package shelf, can overheat and melt the plastic under the plate causing it to recess into the package shelf. I put a blob of solder on the spring contact so it would again firmly touch the recessed plate.

I would remove the unit and check the contacts in the package shelf, and if they don't look overheated, have someone step on the brake with the key on, to see that you have current there.

I'll look into to that later today. Hopefully that's it. Thanks!

Any clue what I'm looking at time-wise to swap out the tranny mounts? Should I be able to bang them out in an hour or two? Or is there a bunch of crap I have to pull first just to get to them?

Also after reattaching the battery once I was done pulling the EGR valve and cleaning everything out it's STILL giving me the same code? I checked everything, replaced all vacuum lines, cleaned out the metal tube (which was blocked solid) and have everything else clean as a whistle. I checked the diaphragm to ensure it moved freely (which it did). What's next? Any suggestions? Do I just need to buy a new one? Or should I try to pull the battery again, clean any codes and see what happens? I hate just throwing parts at a car if there's an alternative ya know!

For your side marker Mercedes sells a repair kit socket + two terminals and grommets it's not expensive ~$20. All you have to do is cut your melted plug and splice in the new one.
