I know it says premium gas only but does everyone actually use that? Just curious I use premium and still get all the popping noises after a long day of driving.

+1 on mixing it up. I used to use only premium but ever since the oil companies started gouging on premium I shop around. Standard practice used to be ten cent increments between grades. These days regular is a loss leader and the poor saps that buy premium are getting hosed at the hose.

Most of the time I fill up with 93 octane, because it's the only premium grade carried at Sam's Club. When I'm on the road, I prefer to put in at least 91 octane, but if it's a choice between 89 and 93 with a big price spread, I've put in the 89 without any problems.

I always use one of the top tier fuels. It used to be Chevron Supreme until they pulled out of the Mid-Atlantic. I now use Shell V-Power and the car runs perfectly. I still add a 20oz bottle of Chevron Techron every 3000 miles as a precaution.

I have only used premium. I don't know if it is a fact but a friend (05 E320) told me she uses mid grade often but that she gets slightly better mileage with premium.

I use the GasBuddy.com on my iphone to find the lowest cost for top tier (http://www.toptiergas.com) premium gasoline.
