Door locks behave funny

It used to lock all four doors with one press to the remote. Now I have to push four times, each press will only lock one door? What gives? Thanks
PS: the E300TD 98 did go to the shop before this happened.

Plutoe, the lock switch inside the car does the same thing also. I will check the battery though. Probably time to replace. Thanks.

The signal strength of the key fob wont effect the actual individual solenoid's function, it merely says lock the car or unlock the car. do the door lock solenoids attempt to move the door linkages it only sends a brief pulse to actuate, you might have to use some lithium grease on the cables and linkages to move freely again. or the motors may be wearing out.

Do they all unlock on command?

Yes, they do unlock together on command.

More testing indicates the front doors responded concurrently, but the rear doors independently. Sometimes, it took two/three tries to close.

Then you prob just need some grease. our locks are old and depending where ya live maybe a little corroded, do you know how to get door the panels off?

Or like the other guy said, you can keep changing the key fob battery? LOL

You will have to pull the door panels off, roll the windows up all the way carefully pull the plastic membrane aside, don't remove it all the way.
and you should be able to gain access from there.
