Trunk (rear) star ornament
The ring part is missing. Can get a new one, but how is the old star taken off and new one installed?

To help you in your quest, first open the trunk, then remove the trunk lid covering, then observe how the star emblem is fastened to the trunk lid, then look for the appropriate tool to release the fastener and remove the emblem---install in reverse order.

It's a push fit, using three rubber grommet style fixings. Either pull from the front, or push from the back.

MB dealership (parts) says it installs from the outside but that you have to be careful not to damage the outside of trunk lid.

Most are adhesive backed. Use dental floss to release them.
