1997 E420 - Rear roller sunshade stuck in up position

My rear roller sunshade is stuck in up position. Do any one knows where is the fuse for rear roller sunshade? Or have wiring info that I can get.

I went through 3 fuses area in the car, but I don't find fuse marked for rear roller sunshade. Please help.

Thanks. Yes I checked the fuse and it is good. But anyway I replace with new one. But no luck, sunshade is not working. If there is any other idea or wiring diagram will be greatly appreciated.

Only reason I was trying to bring roller sunshade down was that my 3rd brake light is not working, I wanted to change the bulb.

I always leave my roller sunshade up, but one time I want it to go down so I can change the bulb on 3rd brake light, it is not moving.

The circuit is very simple-----switch---fuse---- motor---you either have a bad switch or a faulty motor!!

is there a reason why you rejected fuse #12 as stated on the chart?

(oh sorry, asked and answered. it was late and i had a huge Mothers day dinner. )

On mine, the sunshade was intermittent. It seemed to be temperature-dependent. In any case, I could often get it to move by holding the switch down (helper) while pushing-pulling on the shade to give it some assist.

Thank you all for your input.

Late yesterday I manually played with the roller track to see it may make it lose and work. But did not work.

Finally clean the switch contact and it is working again.

Just to be safe, I am keeping the roller rear sunshade in down position.

Next question, any one know how to open cover on 3rd brake light? I have to change the bad bulb in it.

See photos of 3rd brake light. Please help.

All fixed. Thanks Plutoe and Hirnbeiss.

Week befor last week this forum saved me also $600 on my W221 (2007 S550) on door control module by telling dealer to reflashed it rather then replacing with new one.

Thanks again all.

I'd rather have mine stuck in the up position.
