Question Clear or Tint tails on a Black Opal

i've got a 97 E320 Black Opal (looks like a dark grey-blue), I'm looking to update the tail lights.

Do you think i should go with the clear or tints?

I was leaning towards the clears because the car isn't black and theres nothing on the car that's black and i dont think it would match well with the paint. But i'd like to know what you guys think.

(If anyone knows a good place with a good price for the tails please send me a PM, Steve if your reading this send me a quote for the tails+ship if you have a chance)

On a side note, I've sadly found a bit of rust on the right wheel well (front and rear). The front is a bit worse then the rear, not that either is bad.

Its one of the bad parts about living in the snow belt.

I am playing with the idea of finding a right front body panel (found a couple on ebay for 150 incl ship) and getting them painted my color. Or should i just take it to a body shop and get its grinded off an painted, knowing it will show up again in at least 2 years? thanks guys.

You can't go wrong with AMG smoked taillights. They look good on any color E. My .02

Oh and by the way, I've seen them listed on eBay for about $250.00

i think smoke taillights blend in too much with the dark paint. i have a '97 black 320 and also debated on if i should go with the smoke e55's or white. i think the white stands out more.... and i dont want anybody to mistaken me for a real e55 since i do have the amg kit. jmo

E55

i dont think people would mistake me for a E55, i have the stock body kit & i have my E320 badges on (and will keep them).

I am looking for a good ways to personalize my car.

So far i have-
Factory Xenons
Lighted Sills
17" Sport Rims (99-01 sport rims 5 star) w/ pilot sports

nothing big deal, but much better then how it came stock.

I want to do a flat hood emblem, clear side blinkers, Xenon match bulbs.

Any other ideas are always welcome.

Re: E55

Here's instruction on how to install the new tail light into your car (they will not just fit right in, some mods are needed)

Instruction of install new style taillights for W210

Of course, you can always install this system for your car

Smoked E55 taillights on b/o would be my opinion as well. Make sure you're handy with a rotary tool to grind the inners down.
