Remus seems like a value for money kinda setup LewS......otherwise Steve wouldn't have gone with them without much hesitation...errr, well only needed a bit of pursuasion, right Steve? An advantage of these is that you don't even need to cut a hole in your bumper to install them, unlike a few of the more expensive ones.

Sounds good. Do you think I should put the remus on first and then do the straight pipe on the resonators or just go for the whole shootin' match.

I would suggest seeing what the regular setup would sound like, maybe you like it as is. However, if it is cheaper to do it in one go, by all means - I haven't heard of anyone who's not happy with the sound and performance enhancements of the resonator removal. Good luck and do keep us posted! Maybe take some pics so others will know what it is like under a larger benz.

Yeah Dave ,,you know me too well, and tips were not an option because they are hard to find.IMHO,Lew should try the remus with his resonators on first. Then when he hears how mellow the car will sound when just cruisin, and how hungry it sounds when he stands on it,,,he'll really be pleased. The tips of this remus are so classy, and the finishing touch is unique.

Thanks Stemag. I will try that first, then I can judge the growl I want. Want more? I'll straight pipe the resonators.

Stemags I think you got me going for a new exhaust. The car looks great. I also am going to upgrade my stock 17" on my '99 E430 for the staggared look either 17's or 18's. I like the look you got though. Where'd you get your wheels & tires from? Finally what's the K&N filter you have? What's the upside of it?

Whitey makey me blush

Thanks clco, the shoes came with the better performing warm weather tires mounted from
http://www.tirerack.com/index.jsp

I use the OEM 5 spoke SE rims for the Pirelli snowsports.

Ive since gone to German made Goodyear F1 GS D3's which are outstanding. I can dodge cabbys on Canal St like crazy now.

I havent lowered the car at all,nor done the offset thing either,(ala Whitey)cause mileage is still important to me.But if I did, which isnt impossible,I would check with the White guy cause he knows from wence he speaks.

The K&N is a nice compliment to the free flowing exhaust the car now has.I still contend that the pedal is more responsive.Plus the filter lasts 100 k if you clean it like directed.Good luck and let us all enjoy your transition pics.
