vibration problem
When i start my car up in the morning there is a strong vibration when i put it in drive and my foot is on the brake. Then after the car has warmed up completely, it kind of smooths out. Is this normal? i mean my wagon has 155k , is this because of the high mileage or could it be something else. I took it to my local
so called certified merc technician shop and they told me it could be the motor mounts. Plus the car runs a little loud. is there anything i can use to help the vibration and or help the engine run a little quieter and smoother?

Also Inspect the Crank Pulley...for Run Out and Cracks
Do replace it before Launches and takes out the Front cover/water pump/oil pan...
You Can Have the Mechanic Measure the Motor Mounts ..Thay have a Spec..and Inspect them for Leaking fluid
Also Were the Spark Plugs done at 100K?
That may be a Problem if the Mounts are ok
, until ofcourse i warm it up or drive for about 20 minutes. but acceleration is still a little rough

[B]As a matter of fact, the spark plugs were just done. and thats when it started.
Maybe the Tech Didnt use the correct plyers to remove the spark Plug connectors and Mucked up a connector? and The Miss is a defective Spark plug connector?
Since its a twin plug system you can have One Out and the cylinder will still fire..NOT as Smooth ...That could Be You Miss fire?

I really need to find another shop. Just this morning i went to pick up my wifes 02 E320 from the dealer (still under warranty) and i was asking some of the guys there did they know of any outside shops i could take my 98 and they told me "no". So i mentioned that i usually take it to my so-called tech which is located in the same town about a mile away, and they just laughed. We both blurted out the name of the shop simultanously. They told me this guy comes into the dealer for his parts and sometimes has to ask questions about how to fix this and that. They told me this guy is only good for changing oil and batteries. WOW!
I dont know if they are just hating on the poor guy, but he does seem kind of airheaded. But his shop is loaded with all late model mercs and his business card states "Certified Mercedes Technician.
Anyway, thats my last visit to this guy.
I need to find a shop immediately. i refuse to go to the stealer. They once tried to charge me 150 bucks for checking my trunk lock.
Sometime we even loaded them the special tool to do a certian job(only to to good guy's that come around, not to every one).
