Windshield Wiper

Everytime I crank my car up my windshield wiper comes on and then stops. I changed the wiper motor and the switch, but it still continues. Please help.

What do you mean by--"crank my car up"-----do you mean every time I start my car or do you mean every time I put the key in the ignition and turn or what and the wiper comes on??

Yes when put the key in the ignition. And yes the wiper swipes back and forth for several swipes then stops.

You have not provided a VIN therefore do not know if you have a rain sensor---yes or no!

Yeah I'm really comfortable providing a Vin # but it's a 97 e420 if that helps.

All that whining and we still don't know if you have rain sensor.
Check you wiper switch, if it is on first click, you have it on rain sensor.
Rain sensor itself is about 2x2 plastic box behind rear-view mirror.
