Monoblocks

Hi Guys,
I drive a 2002 E320 4matic and I have been reading these threads for a couple of weeks now, and I still havnt really solved my question.

My question is can I use 18x9, 5 lug, 112mm e55 AMG monoblocks all around without a problem or do I have to make adjustments so they fit right, or should I just get a set of the 18x8, 5 lug, 112mm monoblocks.

Im not really a fan of the staggered look,(I would like to rotate my tires every now and then) but I did find a really good deal for the 18x9 ones hence why I am asking if they can be used all around.

Help a brother out.

If the monoblocks come from comparable vehicles, means offset in 30's it should fit.
Bare in mind you are closing the tolerances and even tire brand change can make the difference.
The only way to make sure is drive there with a jack and put it on front. Rears are pretty tolerant.

If those are the monoblocks from the W210 (99-02) E55 then yes 18x9 will fit front and back. I ran this setup with a two inch drop and no issues. Same reason, got a killer deal. Tire size is skinnier than recommended though to prevent hitting the upper control arm bolt. I believe i ran 245/40 18 front and back. Can do 245 or even 235 if you really want to be safe.

Thanks for the suggestions, but do I need to make the 2 inch drop or can I leave it as it.

The two inch drop is because i didnt want my car too look like a donk. You dont need to lower it to fit those wheels.

You're REALLY going to have to be very careful, Tim. I'm saying this because
you're pushing the envelope and like said earlier, the only real test may be to
try the tire to get your yes/no.

if you use 245/35 your tire circumference is going to be 1.25" or so less than
the factory issued 215/55-16 and may be enough to disable the cruise feature.
[updated: the above only occurs if the tires are staggered/dissimilar which is
not what you're proposing so shouldn't be a problem] The speedometer will
show 2% faster than factory issued tire/wheel setup.

If you use the E55 rears in the front to allow tire rotation, the fender edge of
the tire will be 25-ish mm closer to the wheel arch. You may find the need to
flatten the fender arch lip.

Run the numbers yourself so that you're familiar with cause/effect. Just because
something 'works' for one person doesn't mean they'll work for another person
since there are just enough variations in models, editions, tire construction,
etc and I'd hate to hear that you invested tire money only to learn that it
resulted in more mods or money to correct it.

Because you have 4wheel power, the critical specs may even be more delicate
and the penalty may be severe.

Raymond mistook tire height difference for tire circumference difference.
The mentioned tires will have very close rpm, but it takes to check specific tire to compare.
I am running 235/35/18 and speedometer shows on high side, but within 2-3 mph. Than my car had 225/55/16 originally.
Those days most of low profile tires are directional, so don't expect them to be fully rotated. Not to mention that 18" tires are not build to last. They have different priorities and money saving is the last of them.
