The projector headlamps are only available by halogen version at the moment...not a fair comparison, but against a xenon setup...hands down the xenon will walk!!! Comparing my Hella aftermarket HID kit to OEM HIDs...my previous OEM's provided outstanding illumination but not by far...the projectors will get the job done, but if auxilary light aim is a very critical component on your platter...then I say stick with the factory stuff....I for one have no problems stopping by Cosco to pick up stronger contact lenses...:p

hi cflanza,
not being rude, but you say plug and play, but lots of work to be done, what exactly does that mean?
thanks, j.

Halogen only: 25-30 minutes tops!!! On 00+ front bumper removal is required...everything is virtually plug & play - install bulbs (not included) and adjust aming height and your good to go. Installing the aftermarket HID kit adds another 45 min-1hour.

BTW: cflanza -What bulbs are you using??

Are those the units by In-Pro (top). They look different. Note the chrome rings. Or did the the Ebay seller add the rings.

I asked them the same question Kev.

I asked:

"Are these the In-Pro brand projector style headlights? Do they come with
the chrome trim rings? I have a 96 E320 and have been looking for these to
come available for the 96 - 99 model W210."

Here is the reply I received:

"Hello,

thank you for the e-mail.
Yes thats inpro headlights!
Of course these headlights will fit your w210 ´96 (we need only the
informations with your payment again to send the correct ones).

Please write back if you have further questions or if you want these lights
directly from us!

He did not mention the chrome rings.

We've been contemplating setting up a meet next weekend on the 20th or 21st. It would be a great opp. for Rich to show off his lights. Any of you guys interested? It will probably be in at PCC or something...

I'm pondering installing the Audi S4 projectors in my headlamps. Not the same affect, but possible light dispersion even over OEM xenon.

For those seeking xenon in the new headlamps I would recommend to either look into the Audi S4 HID projectors, or the small Bosch projectors to replace the "weak, based on the opinions I'm reading" light pattern distribution halogen projectors that come in those new lamps. Bi-Xenon projector replacements might be nice, if they fit...

Just some ideas

Probably where it was the last time we had it in Pasadena and it was a pretty good turn out. We used one of the parking lots at PCC (Pasadena City College) and had the upper floor all to ourselves. The dates are open so if that's too soon for anyone we can move it back to the end of the month or even April.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea either but let's see how many people we can round up that will drive down there. I'm busy but will post in a few days to see what I can come up with and then go ahead and set it up.

On my In-Pro unit...if you fold back the rubber surroundings that protect the rim of the lens...you will see that gleam chrome finish on the inner rim, perhaps the top pic just illustrates that.

Judging by the pics...they are in fact In-Pro product. However, did they state who manufactures the units?
