Body Codes - Opinions Needed
So, I recently bought a Snap-On Modus Ultra Scanner w/ all the cables and chip adapters and decided to see its' capabilities on my W210.
Engine and transmission tested code free - wasn't expecting any codes.
Next I went into the cluster controls on the Modus and and checked codes and found:
1040 - No CAN communication with engine
1041 - No CAN communication with traction control
1043 - CAN BUS error
1470 - Fuel level sensor open
1471 - Ambient air temperature sensor short
1752 - Connection to illumination module
1755 - K2 ACC to cluster short circuit
Now, I was surprised since I haven't been experiencing any issues what-so-ever. I cleared the codes, ran a pointer sweep and display demo with the Modus and all functioned properly.
Codes have not returned yet.
The only thing that sticks out in my mind is that around 2 years ago, the stepper motor for the speedo went bad and I replaced it with a motor off a spare cluster I keep for parts.
Now, I'm pretty sure the cluster issue I had two years ago is what triggered and saved these codes, but any input/opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Scanner should tell you if the code is current/pending or stored/historic.

I see stored codes in every car that I scan. Most of the time, they mean absolutely nothing. If you can clear them and they don't return, no further action necessary.
