AMG Monoblocks for E430 4Matic W210
Looking to get new wheels and tires for my 2000 E430 4Matic Sport. Preferably the E55 AMG Monoblock. I would like to keep them square setup since the car is an AWD. AMG Monoblock I 18x8 sound good? Should I get OEM or is replica fine? Also does anybody know the tire size for them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There's no need to go with a square setup just because you have 4matic. Having different width wheels won't hurt anything as long as you keep the overall diameter of the tires the same.
If you want a nice set of OEM ones get ready to pay up. Most I've seen are $2,000+ and then you need to buy tires. I've got around $2,400 into my Monoblocks after buying a rough set and having them restored. Luckily the rears I got came with almost new tires so I just had to buy a pair of fronts for them.

Check for wheel well lip clearance as the AMGs came with rolled fenders.
Tire size - 235 40 R18s or 225 is good too.
Stay away from the replicas, they dont take potholes very well

Thank you. Just looking to keep it squared really, unless I have to for fitment issues. One thing I've came to find out is there is very little parts to lower a W210 4Matic. Probably not even going to start this (AMG Monoblock + Lower) until spring since there isnt even anything to order.

Do a search on here. There's been plenty of talk on lowering 4matic cars. Not sure about the wagons though as they have self-leveling rear suspensions (I'm assuming that's not just a RWD thing) which is an added thing to deal with. You can remove that if you want to switch steering racks though.

Now I'm just looking for suspension.
Anybody know if the E55 AMG Sway Bars will work on the W210 4Matic Sedan?

Chrome finishes are a problem over time. Seen enough of the challenges even in less-salt environments and the chrome finished monoblocks that sit for sale on CL for months and never sell.
Then to even have them properly 'de-chromed' at great $$$ (due to special correct process needed and environmental issues) and then refinished...... not worth the headache.
Disadvantages: Chrome plating is typically more expensive compared to the other finish types. Although chrome is very scratch resistant, if the finish does get scratched or dinged, it cannot be spot repaired like a polished wheel. ... Chrome wheels are also prone to peeling due to salt and winter weather conditions.
Advantages: BLING.....
if you like bling.
2 cents worth.

The perception about chromed MB wheels is that MB never sold them.
All MB chromed wheels were chromed by US dealers and fact that dealers went for the expense to sell new car give you an idea how high was demand for it a generation ago.
And fact is, that US chroming business is lacking a lot.
My chromed monoblocks are made by Lorinser and chromed at factory. Even 25 years and PO using acid cleaners show some pitting in spokes, they still have good presentation and most important are straight and with no cracks. (have 5th of them with weld for spare).
So when we might have and do have different taste in cosmetics, I have those wheels on 4th of my MB and don't plan on getting rid of them, especially after seeing how new MB Czech-made monoblocks crack left and right.
