Help with right tire size for 16" rims
I'm about to purchase a set of rims 7.5Jx16H2 A96 OEM (picture enclosed) for my 2002 E430 as I prefer a classic cleaner look. It was either these rims or the Sport version but these I picked up for $100 bucks and the price can't be beat. Presently, the car has 17" AMG, but I don't like that look and I feel that their open design allows for much of the brake dust to keep them dirty.
Questions: What is the right size of tire that should be used with these rims? My priority is comfort, not looks and performance.
I guess I should ask first if these can be used on an E430 and also if I'll need any kind of spacer or additional equipment to mount them on my E430. I ask these last two questions because the description said they came from an E320. In my limited knowledge, engine size is the only difference between these two, but I'm learning new things on a daily basis with this rig.

I had those ugly *** wheels in chrome on my wagon when I bought it. Couldn't get rid of them fast enough. They're a pain in the *** to keep clean too due to all the small spots.

I found that the preferred tire size for those E320 rims is 215/55-16.
Was there ever a year when the E430 came with those rims in the picture?

i'm not a 420/430 historian....but I've not seen one with those (downgraded) wheels...which I've only seen on 320s.
the photos seem to show the scalloped style rims
the ones you bought just now were what i had and i swapped out for AMGs off a 211. ironic. oh, to get rid of the
brake dust i just went to Akebono ceramic pads and all is well....with no noticeable loss in brake performance

Those wheels only came on the E320 as far as I know. I'd also want more rear tire than a 215 on something like an E430.

Strigoi, thanks for your comment. I didn't think about performance and only cared about appearance and comfort. Luckily, I only emailed the person selling them and show interest but did not commit to buying them. I'm going back to my plan to try to find a set of E430 Sport (picture enclosed). Thanks again.

Those rims on 1st picture are not that bad and they come around year 2000.
I had older 11-spokes on our 1998 model with even smaller holes and even I liked the looks at the time, I hated buying toothbrushes in Army-sized packs
The 2nd picture shows sport model wheels for E430, what I think is 17".
The earlier E420 had similar looking 5-spokes in 16 size and I think this is the closest you can get to original monoblocks without paying for monoblocks.
