Greg,

The issues you are referring to "the seat and steering wheel adjustment panel (door control module)" on front door panels is common problem.
For the seat control, pushing forward, the seat goes backwards, lowering the button, the seat rises, etc.

Remove the door panel and disconnect the plug to the control module. Try cleaning the connections/ crevices on the backside of the panel with compressed air/canned air, even some electrical contact cleaner. Do this carefully.
This may help. I've done this on my neighbors 98 e320 a few times, but eventually, these modules wear down (from my limited understanding of these modules and what mb techs have told me).
There is no "reset button" for these modules but I have also been told , when out of the seat, move the seat all the way forward and then in the opposite direction (to the back). This seems to reset the headrest setting.
I would also check the wiring and connections under the seat - wiring ages. Worst case scenario, pick n pull for a replacement door module.

You can also do a search for more info - plenty of past discussions on this know issue.

Based on your vin# -
Part # 10
http://mb-teilekatalog.info/view_Sub...=82&subgrp=063

------
For a 2001 e320 - ( I just used a vin# off a 2001 e320 model to compare against yours) - part #50
- http://mb-teilekatalog.info/view_Sub...=82&subgrp=063

Based on a quick look, both years seem to take the same part #s albiet there are other part#s that differ.
You can verify this with the stealership on the additional part #50, 2001 part #s listed

Interesting ..... how about wiring harness ?? Can you check if they are same for all years ? If i remember right big black plug which comes from seat/steering panel to the floor was a bit different , had wings on the end and this one doesnt seems completly rectangle , also there is some extra plug on the door side which is useless for my car ??

What do you mean it is different?

This matches the part # to your vin#
Are you saying the new door you had installed came with a harness included in the front door replacement?

Strange, Typically, as an example, when a door is replaced, it doesnt include all the other components that make up a complete door. It seems in your situation they assumed the harness (if it came with the replacement door) would match ONLY because the door itself is a correct replacement. Where is the harness to your original door?

Only options is to swap the harness to the correct part # or look for the pin outs on the seat and steering plug and match to the existing harness you have in place.

Greg,

Are you saying you have power going to the mirror and pressing the center console switch makes the power mirror move in the wrong direction?
Replaced the entire DS power mirror ?
