My oil indicator has just started to come on, guess i need to add a little oil. What brand and weight of oil do you recommend i use?? I don't know if the factory uses synthetic or not.

i used to be a die hard regular user. but since my last oil change for the first time ever on any of me or my parents vehicles. i used syn on the E. 5-40 since i am FL and i need the flow during start and for higher temps. i even used to do my own oil changes until my source for a lift went away so now i'm back to paying 60 bucks for something i can do for 20. o and if u really want to be picky don't by a fram oil filter...ohh wait there the only ones out thee that make cheap oil filters for every car out there.. good luck..

The factory fill was Mobil 1 0W-40. It is available at Autozone stores and some Wal-Marts. If you a following the FSS system, the factory recommends only synthetics (actually, they recommend synthetics, period, because they assume everyone will follow the FSS).

NOTHING but Mobil 1 0w40. As the previous post said, it is available at AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, etc.

Check out the Mobil 1 website, IMO Mobil 1 is the best I've ever used!

Any 15w-40 works great in warm weather. Most carry MB 228.3 specs. I use Mobil Delvac 1300S, $1.75/q. New API SM/GF-4 5w-30 oil is suitable for cold weather. I would go 5000 miles on these "dino/HC" oils. Mostly, Mobil 1 0w-40 is good advise, it carries MB 229.3 spec, but so does German Castrol Syntec 0w-30, a much better oil. Mobil 1 SUV 5w-40 oil is a great choice too.

I've been using Amsoil in my autos (and even my lawn mower!) for years. My last German car (92 BMW 325i E36) was sold with 257,000 miles on it and a compression average per cylinder of 92% of original. My 98 MBZ E320 has now 115,000 miles and it runs like a champ. I can go on about Amsoil, but I prefer you do your own research. You can find them at www.amsoil.com. And for those of you wondering if I'm pitching a product I sell, well I'm not. I just a consumer like most of you.
Good luck!
