Angry New wheels stolen last night!!!

Hi guys,

Just wanted to vent about my loss. All 4 of my new wheels (barlely a month old) were stolen. They left the car on bricks. It was parked as usual at a LIRR train station like it is everyday.

Someone took the shiny air-vent caps last week which came with the tires and that was upsetting at the time.

I guess it happens to all hunh!!!

Mine is the red one half way down the following page:

Wonder if the same peeps stole some chrome Carlson style rims on a maroon SL500 that was parked for sale new Central Connecticut State University about a week ago. I was surprised. The car was parked in some deep grass for like at least 1.5-2 weeks. I was driving to work and saw that SL without the rims, couldn't tell if on blocks and the top was cut.

Damn, I'm so sorry about that. BTW, do you invest in any wheel locks or did they get those off too?

Not even blocks. The put the car on little bricks. I was so afraid i was going to mess something up when i put the original wheels back on. I even called the Benz dealership, the idiots wanted $150 to put on 4 tires.

No, I didn't have any locks on. I was assuming that living in Long Island would give me that peace of mind that i wouldn't have to worry about those kinda things. I guess we learn with pain only.

Oh man, Tofi, I'm so sorry to hear this. They were a nice set of rims and I was just looking at the photo again over yesterday as I continue go back and forth over what style to get. Amputation should again be part of the conviction process. Man, that sux .

Get at least two different set of wheel locks per wheel. That should slow down the punks a bit.

I'm sorry to hear about the theft of your wheels man. I think I'm definitely going to invest in some wheel locks for my rims too.

Always invest a few dollars toward wheel locks.

Thanks, all you guys. I guess it was a little foolish on my part. But we learn from our mistakes, don't we? Hopefully, in the distant future, when I can bring myself to buying another set of wheels, the locks are going to be the first ones in.

man that sucks but i know exactly how you feel. about 4 years ago my car was parked in my parents driveway on staten island and came out the next morning to find my car on cinder blocks. they got my chrome amg monoblocks 2's. i called the cops and they said it was def a professional job and that i should be lucky that they didnt leave the car on my rotors and that basically there was nothing they could do. my parents home owners insurance actually covered the replacement of the rims minus their deductible. i got some brabus rims instead.

As an recommendation for those who need wheel locks, I bought two sets from this website: http://www.pure-motorsport.com/produ...98/CA=50/PA=10

Great service and great locks. I don't worry about parking my car on the street now.

Sux to the max! Sorry to hear that Tofi, those were really nice unique wheels but lucky in a way that they didn't leave the car on its rotors (like they would here in Asia). Maybe you'll be able to run into them someday (and maybe the cops could do something about it then), afterall, they're not that common and can only be used on a Benz. What wheels are you getting next?

Just remember that if someone really wants your wheels, wheel locks will only slow them down. There are kits available that are used to remove wheel locks. I've seen it done on my car when I lost the wheel lock key. The shop hammers a metal cylinder over the lock and then is able to turn it.

http://www.kentool.com/tireserv_WCLM.htm

The locks will make it harder for the thief to steal the wheels. If there are two on each wheel, a total of 8 wheel locks might make the person reconsider the time and effort involved in getting the wheels.

Damn,Tofi, sorry to hear this. I hope the son of a ***** rots in Hell. Do you have a garage you can keep it in? Get that, then set your sights on some new rims and tires. If I'm not mistaken, you got yours the same place I got mine from. Explain your situation over the phone to them and they might give you a break . It's worth a try,and please let us know how it works out. Your car is BANGIN',i wouldn't be surprised if you got the same rims again, they matched perfectly. Good Luck

Well I still have to take the train from the same place so can't do much about parking, other than buying a cheap klunker for the station. For now I'm trying to not cry in my pillow!!
And this so soon after I quit smoking after 24 years!!!
