Paint Colour
G'day All, I have a W210, Polar White (code 149) with a different coloured trim strip all around. The colour of that strip seems not to be available, I have looked in plenty of places. The info plate shows colours of internal trim and paint only, theres no a third colour mentioned in the embossing. The trim might be a grey/silver/beige but when I consult the list of paint colours used in the W210 series, nothing jumps out at me as possibilities. When I download the vehicle info from the Germany site, there's nothing there either. I ask this because after a rear end shunt, repair work was carried out for a previous owner and the trim strup on the bumper was painted Polar White - perhaps because the spray painter could not find the colour either. I suppose it's possible that the previous owner arranged for the strip to become a highlight. but regrettably I cannot ask him, because he is no longer of this world. And I'd like the strip to be continuous all around the vehicle. Any ideas please?

As far as I know, most, again, most of the automotive paint retailer, including NAPA, have scanner that can read the current paint and color match it.
I mean come on. I live in middle of no where and I can find places/stores that can mix paint to color match whatever color I desire. Surely you can find one in your place.

I used to have factory manuals with that information but sold the lot a few years ago. There is a specific color code for the "rub strips". Any good automotive paint supplier should be able to look it up. If not there contact a dealer.

Any MBUSA dealer should be able to key in your VIN and navigate to the parts database to pull up parts specific to your 'as-built'

Thank you all gentlefolk. I didn't mention that I am in The Land Down Under and the startekinfon site doesn't much care for me especially as I am not a business person. Yes of course I can secure the services of a competent spray painter, but I had in mind purchasing a spray pack of paint and doing the job myself, well within my competencies. Also, on Australia I am classified as an Age Pensioner, which means I need to save as many $$ as i can. So thank you all again.

I'm not sure at down under, but here in US, we can walk into NAPA store (automotive parts store and some shop have paint counter), they will scan the paint color with their scanner and mix the paint, and put the paint into spray can. No such service down there? And that paint spray only cost like 25 USD. Yes, it's very expensive can of paint, but remember, it's a custom mix to color match your paint. I'll call it a deal since it's color match/custom mix to your liking.
