A/C Filter Replacement

Its a Pain to replace since you must remove the glove box to access the filter housing..But the service is covered under MB
For the record, I picked up my car in Germany, toured the factory, etc, and the MB rep who spent 2 hours with me explaing how everything worked said "you might as well leave the filter in the on position, as they will change it out each time". What I have learned is that you have to be specific as to what you expect the dealer to do and be firm.
THe pollen filter is cheap and easy to replace once you have done it (about $25). The charcoal filter is the one that can be turned on, it is much more expensive ($90) and should last about 80000 miles (regardless of what MB says). Some only replace the charcoal filter once it stops working, which also makes sense.
My car is a little older so I don't have the free service.
Here's a link to a page in my state (my local dealer's page seems to be on the fritz). You'll see the second item under "A" service.
