Estimate On 60K Service

Hi, I had the following work done and want to compare it to what others paid:

Tune-up, plugs replaced.
Air filter.
Fuel filter.
Brakes and suspension thoroughly inspected, exhaust, all belts & hoses checked.

Brake flush.
Mercedes coolant flush.
Mobil 1 Oil service.
Faulty water temp sender replaced.

I checked with our dealership and the quoted $$600 for the 60k service. I don't know what it included.

So, I went to a reputable mechanic and they charged $688 , $421 which was labor - $228 of that from the tune-up alone. Labor cost $76 per hour. This was not necessarily a Mercedes or German car specialist either.

Thanks for any responses.

2002 E320 Special Edition
mike430sport,

That's great info to know as I am searching around SF South Bay Area for MB independent shop once the factory free maintenance schedule is over. Was the service up to your satisfaction? Is it a clean and organized shop? Are the service advisor knowledgable?

Thanks ahead....

What year is your benz?

Also, was this part of an FSS service? A "B" service will run you about $400. Although, some the work you mentioned may not be part of a "B" service.

if your car has fss, than you must have a 98+ e320. why did you change the plugs at 60k miles? you're supposed to change them at 100k.
