Brake Lights "Defective"

Every time I shift the gear into reverse, the "LAMP DEFECTIVE" warning comes on. I checked ALL the lamps, and they're all fine except for the Brake Lights (the center brake light just above the trunk is working just fine) on the side (both of em). This is despite me buying replacement brake lamps--even after replacing them, it still gives that warning. What is going on?

have someone step on the brake and put it into r while you stand safe off to the side to see what bulb it is.

I too had this problem with the front left side marker on the front quarter panel. I had a new bulb and still got the malfunction light. Took the bulb out and poured some alcohol on the end then pressed it in and out a few times and repeated procedure. All fixed. No problems since then. This was killing me for about 8 months.

Hope this helps someone.
