There is no single answer to your question (since you don't indicate where you come from at your profile).
If you are from the US, you should find the latest DVD from Navteq web site (www.navteq.com).

My apologies. I am in the US. I would like to know the Version Part Number. The lastest mentioned on this spost was 2006.2 BQ-6-46-0223. Not sure if there is newer Version Part Number than this one.
Thanks!
Thanks!

AND... I just happen to have 1 for sale if anybody is interested. It was given to me by the Used Dealer before he realized that the e350 I bought wasn't equipped with the required hardware. I have since decided to go with an aftermarket solution (Alpine) and thus the disc is useless. It has only be opened once and is in perfect shape. MSRP on it is $249 and I'll take $160 & will ship it for free via UPS anywhere in the Continental US.
Here's a link to the exact info: http://tinyurl.com/na7vup
PM me if interested.... Thanks!

I just put a Euro COMAND and Nav unit in my 2003. It is not as easy as indicated in STEPH280's post on a 2005 (no offense). The COMAND install is a piece of cake. The Nav unit was another story entirely. While mine was prewired for NAV, it was not plug and play. I was eventually able to figure out the way the fiber optics had to run, but it was vastly different from the above photos.

The most recent version for the US & Canada is v8.0 that was released in November 2008.

Bought the kit. Did the install. But all I get on the Command screen is "Mercedes Benz" with the star, and then it turns off. Radio no longer works. Nothing on the Command screen works.
Anyone have a suggestion on what might be wrong?

Pitargu, Are you writing that you bought the kit from BamaDan?

Yes, the fiber ring was incorrect. Put the fiber cables in the proper order, and all is well. Thanks for the tip.
I purchased the kit from MBDoctor. Received the wrong panel, though. (I have the power outlet.) Hopefully, I can exchange the panel.

Thanks for the clarification. Glad to read that the system is working. I am interested in this upgrade for my E500, although I like the way my Garmin works with my Blackberry Storm - and I just learned the Storm is not compatible with the V60 BT cradle adaptor.

Alternate part numbers?
Thanks to steph280 and this post I installed Nav in my '05 E500 Wagon. The following are the parts with prices.
Part Number Description Price
220-870-35-89 DVD GPS Processor $345.00 (from Ebay)
210-820-24-89 or 6-7-82-3111 GPS antenna splitter $37.50
211-540-68-33 MOST fiber adaptor/CABLE HARNES $11.62
211-545-54-40 or 211-545-79-40 Base bracket $35.62
211-545-63-40 Processor bracket $21.37
910-143-006-001 Screw $0.67
910-112-006-003 Nut $0.90
BQ 6 46 0209 NAV Software DVD 2005.3 $40 (from Ebay)
Total $492.68
A211-690-21-25-9C39 Left rear trunk panel for Wagon $157.50
Grand Total $650.18
Notes:
1) Check with MB dealer if the parts will fit your car before ordering. I ordered the parts for 2005 E500 Wagon.
2) The DVD processor was bough on eBay as a rebuild (factory sealed in box) . According to my research the following part numbers will work in W211. 220-870-35-89 is the latest model, but the older ones will work.
211-820-06-85 replaced by
220-820-60-85 replaced by
220-870-35-89
3) All other parts were purchased from Duval Motor Cars (MB Dealer)
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...?siteid=213951
Duval discount is about 25% off MB list prices + 10% for shipping.
4) I ordered 210-820-24-89 GPS Antenna splitter but received 6-7-82-3111. Also, ordered 211-545-54-40 Upper bracket, but received 211-545-79-40. I don’t know if the later part numbers are newer replacements or parts specific to the Wagon. Again, check these for your VIN before ordering.
5) Navigation Software DVD part numbers. Ebay prices vary from $15 to $150 depending on version.

I see the DVD trunk units advertised for W211 under part number BE 7042
A211 870 52 26 001
Can these be used in a '04 E500 w. command? I understand I'll need to buy all the other parts, but it would be a good start.

Current processor is 2118706085 but 2118705226 should be fine for your 04 e500. If you want hardcopy installation instructions, PM your email address.

Thanks for the write up, the pictures helped tremendously. I plan on tackling this project once I get all the parts ordered. So I was wondering if anyone knew the part number, for the black trunk liner with rear folding seats?

I recently became the proud owner of a one owner 2004 E320 with 53k miles. How do I find out if my NAV Command station is pre-wired for navigation? If I could do the entire project for $650.00 I may consider it.

I used this diagram to find out that 13 and 14 have to be connected together. So I unplugged the one cable and I connected cable 13 and 14 but what I'm a suppose to do with the cable that hangs out lose now without a connection?
https://mbworld.org/forums/attachmen...st-diagram.jpg
Thanks for the help.
//Edit: I finally found this empty connector inside/underneath the B-Pillar.

The diagram shows how the loop is AFTER you connect the fiber optic cables to the NAV unit. The way the car is now is 20--->13. So you need to disconnect 20 and connect it to XX16 and then 14 to 13 to complete the loop. Get it? if not, come down to Chula Vista and I will do it for you, it is really easy once you know what you are doing.
Cheers

Now I'm trying to put the new trunk panel back but the 2 screw holes are different. Has anyone infos about that?
And shouldn't I get some GPS signal bars displayed? I went to the NAV+5 menu and took these pictures.
I also noticed, today is 11.06.2009 and the screen shows 7.11.2009. So it's off by one day.

After driving 10 minutes on the freeway all of the sudden it worked. Yay!!! But I still don't know why the GPS date is one day ahead?
And the trunk panel I have no clue how this will fit in now![Frown](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
The first 2 pictures show the new trunk panel with some bigger square wholes and the other 2 pictures show the little holes with the old mounting parts.
But for some reason I feel like there is something missing

Looks like the panel is for a car with through loading feature (do you have it?). In this case there should be those bigger anchoring lugs instead of the small plastic piece.
You could always purchase the anchoring lugs but I think you should do it on both sides then (the hole can be made larger at the right side, more difficult to make the hole at the left smaller).
