I did this same install last year on my 2005 E320CDI- worked like a charm. Don't have pictures but go back up the thread and look for the 4th one down from the top "Steph280" "MOST Fiber Loop Install" it has a photo showing behind the post. Feel around you will find it.
Also once installed you should either buy the update for the COMAND unit (not the DVD map) or as I did when I had a service done ask the SA about checking if the latest update was installed. It wasn't and they did it for free. I did buy the update. $12 if I remember my part # on the disk is SW Rel. 22.100 SW 46/06 211 589 14 22 00. You will have to check with MB to see if there is another update out. Easy to install in any case and it corrected a few issues. One thing it did that you have to live with is the "engineering mode" is no longer available. It has to be accessed by the MB service computer.

He is showing the cable, but my problem is i am having trouble finding where he got that cable out of.
I kinda think i know a little bit from where he got it from.
I guess ill do a little more digging to find it.
BTW, can you guys tell me whether it was hard to pull those fiber cables out of those housing?

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not just ONE but TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From the knowledge i gained from this thread, i not only activated my NAVIGATION but also my 6-CD CHANGER.
Thanks everyone!!!
No offense to anyone, but i have to say that THIS THREAD WAS PRETTY CONFUSING FOR AMATURE like myself.
There were a lot of gaps that i had to figure out on my own.
I mean it does assume that everyone here knows the background which a lot of people don't.
I am thinking of making a write up that would include a lot of detail that i found very confusing and had to figure out on my own and things on which i got stuck.
But an awesome thread none the less. Just takes a little more time to dig under the layer of terminology.

My 03 has the Pano roof and parktronic, do I still need to purchase a trunk liner, mine has an access panel with the bracket already behind it? What are the parts that I am going to need, I found all the wires/plugs and antenna plug behind the liner and already installed the Command, which works great. Any help is much appreciated.

This is what you need if you already have the Navi unit with DVD and the brackets installed.
1. Fiberoptic wire. The wire that is already there is useless. ($15)
2. Antenna signal splitter ($57)
Thats it!!!!!
Follow the instruction at the beginning of the thread. You dont have to do anything with B or C pillar

2003 E320 W211
Late to the party but finished my EURO comand and nav retrofit for my 2003 W211. Laid off so I had the time ... Thanks to this forum for all the helpful info. My car has COMAND preinstallation so I decided to complete the MOST loop by going under the left passenger door sill and looping in the NAV in order to get the most factory-like installation (as opposed to running another MOST cable in the trunk). Could have never figured this out w/o mbworld forums and all the helpful posts. Also added bluetooth replacer puck. Killer upgrades coming from the Audio 50/Harman Kardon/no phone! Thanks all!

Reprogram
Just took mine out the other day. No problem when I hooked it back up again. Just be careful taking the connections off and when you reinstall the drive.

Reinstall
I believe you should be OK. The radio and everything else should keep working. You will get a message when you push the NAV button that says no NAV or something like that.
My 2005 did not have a NAV system when I bought it. I installed the drive. All the wiring was behind the trunk panel, basically plugged everything in and the NAV system was up and running. So unplugging everything just puts it back to it's original state.

Note: take the usual precautions when working with fiber cables. Do not crimp/bend them under any circumstances!
Clip the wire tie around the navigation wiring harness, and locate the antenna and power wires. (2003-4 MY would also have a fiber connector here)
Unplug the MOST loop connector to the AGW module behind the C-pillar (back of the plate where antenna cable bracket is mounted to.) Lightly pry the side of the plug housing to eject the fiber plug assembly.

MBDoctor.com has the whole kit for $1300. When I bought it from him the drive was used but the other parts appeared to be new. In any case I have been using it since Dec 07 without a problem. You also can find them on Ebay if you just want the drive. Just need to know the part number.

2006 E350
Guys,
Does anyone know if the parts that were mentioned on the original post by Steph280 will work on a 2006 e350? Here is the situation:
I've located a used DVD processor online that I can buy but it doesn't come with the brackets/wires or anything. I've called the local dealers in Houston area and they all give me part # for the entire kit (67823252) which includes the dvd unit. I only need the mounting brackets/side panel/wires. Can I get them some where else?
Thanks in advance for all the help.

Have you completed your install yet? Sounds like I have the same car... '06 e350 that I want to add the Navigation unit to. Just trying to get a feel for what I'm getting myself into.
Also, would you mind forwarding over the PM with the additional info that Dan sent you?
Lastly - what was the part number on the drive you bought? I was checking out ebay and found multiple drives...trying to make sure I don't blow the cash on the wrong one.
Thanks in Advance!

Dan sent me the info for MB dealer who has really good prices BUT he couldn't beat the parts.com prices (he said parts.com is about 20% cheaper). So I'm planning on getting the parts via parts.com

E 211 NAV install
I installed the system in my 05 E. There are quite a number of other members who have too. Got my drive and ALL the OTHER PARTS through MBdoctor.com You can go to his site or do a search for install info on this site. It is not just the DVD drive that is needed. In any case I installed my NAV about 2 years ago and never had any problems. Steph280 "OEM Navigation Retrofit" at the top of this thread is the best description for install instructions. I would stay away from parts outside of the US. Good luck
