this is what happens when friends let friends...
p.s. How hard and how long you gotta push it to get that message?
But yeah, just wait a while till they cool down and you're set. Just proves though, that these cars are really not meant for the track.

Just goes to show how those that claimed they had the disc's 'glowing red' might have a good imagination. Either the imagination was working overtime or the MFD display has a problem. (No doubt the post will be amended to say how the screen was displaying the above message)
I would expect this message to appear at track events, and that is the place where sensible folks put the 'pedal to the metal, or the heel to the steel
) but if you get it driving on public roads then I would suggest a change in driving style? We read of trips down mountain roads where the brakes are being applied excessively, and they are made to 'glow'. I still do not accept that the driver is behaving in a responsible fashion (unless the road is closed and there are no other road users)
Good luck,
John

Start engine
So I started the engine (something I was planning to do anyway) and the message went away and hasn't come back. Gremlins, I suppose.
Like I said you are convinced you are right, and you do not live on the same continent as my wife and children so you go ahead and drive on public roads in the manner you have described.
John
As far as other motorists are concerned there are some issues. Such as Acura TLs, BMW 5 Series, Infiniti G35s, and other vehicles that should be on par with our Es, but aren't. Besides, with AirMatic, I usually just run off the side of the road to pass anyhow.
Although it is fun to mess with more capable cars with less capable drivers like 996s, M3s, and such. The other drivers are cool with me passing them until they see my E320 badge, then they become irate and try to keep up. The road just continues to twist away and the other drivers can't keep their machine's stable.
John
The vehicles involved in the run that caused the brake warning were as follows: 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-500, owner, 24yrs old. 2005 Mercedes-Benz E320, owner, 22yrs old. 2005 Pontiac GTO, owner, 20 yrs old. Young, yes, wise, must be. Logic also tells me that if you brought to the table what we do at our respective ages, you as well would be a performance driver in the finest German auto.
I find your other post quite repugnant and it speaks volumes about your driving attitude:
The deer are easy to avoid but 'tear off the head!!!! then you go on about crushing peoples pets!!!!!! What sort of person are you????
I am hoping that you are purely trying to justify your driving and exxagarating your driving style. Killing domestic pets is not something to brag about. It is sadly sometimes unavoidable, but surely it should be regretted and not something to be so flippant about.
Over here we have constant examples of highly paid young men driving high performance cars causing accidents and then running away. Last week a Premiership football player was sentenced to six months imprisonment for drink driving, he crashed an SL55AMG and tried to drive off dragging a telegraph pole!!! No doubt it wasn't his fault and the telegraph pole jumped out in front of him. No doubt he would 'crush domestic pets' and 'tear off the head of deer'?
Your post sir does not do you credit. I am sure on reflection you might want to reconsider either the words or indeed your driving style?
John
late night drive = driving drunk? your example proves nothing other than an NFL player drove drunk.
thank you for the reflections.
regards

What we have here seems to be a cultural conflict between the British and American styles of humor; subtle understatement versus in-your-face overstatement. One style isn't better than the other, but they don't mesh well in text postings.
Totally agree with that.
My posts will be amended. April 1st is just around the corner.
We look on American Football as a less physical form of rugby where everyone wears copious ammounts of padding.
I have seen very brief highlights of it, but..........
John
wow thank you for the "our sports are better than yours." modest brits? why do that!
but i really dont give a hoot since i never bother to watch american NFL based Football. Ill spend my time watching F1 or college Basketball
No doubt you know what you mean by NFL player but I do not have a clue. No doubt it is perhaps lost in the translation.
John
for some reason a dumb smilie hardly makes for a good joke. i would rather use witty text based communication for any uneducated poster could throw up a bunch of smilies in a row and think he was being funny. in fact i think i know a few posters who choose to do so and their posts are hardly entertaining.
sorry for the confusion about "football." Guess im just a yank but in reality i do know what football means outside the USA but it is not the first thing that comes to mind when I hear the term used on a message forum.

Remember one big thing! . . . Most oversimplifications such as these are usually false by design. I find it hard to believe that anyone in the UK is truly sitting there being jealous of the US.
It is good to be proud of your country, but it is not good to be arrogant about it. I truly don't think that you would ever find a person who has traveled the world and lived in other countries ever make a statement such as yours. At the same time, it is your right to have your opinion and post it.

:v (Just thought I'd throw that bomb in & run!)

i was really just joking around, but if you want to get in my business over it. its not a matter of being arrogant, its about knowing when you are not liked throughout the world because of envy.
